Hogwarts Legacywas one of the very first PlayStation 5 games ever revealed, shown off during the PlayStation Future of Gaming Showcase back in June 2020. Since then, though,Hogwarts Legacyupdates have been hard to come by, with the game’s release date getting pushed back to an undetermined point in 2022 and numerous gaming events coming and going with no sign of it. Luckily, theHogwarts Legacynews drought is nearly at an end, as the game will soon be getting a 20-minute showcase.
On Thursday, March 17 at 2pm PT, Sony will be hosting a special State of Play presentation dedicated entirely toHogwarts Legacy. This 20-minute presentation will include roughly 14 minutes ofHogwarts Legacygameplay footage, which understandably has those looking forward to the game excited. While fans will have to wait until March 17 to see more ofHogwarts Legacyin action,developer Avalanche Softwarehas given fans a brief glimpse of what they can expect.

Counting down to theHogwarts Legacyevent on March 17, Avalanche Software has released a very brief gameplay clip. The clip shows aHogwarts studentwaking up in their Gryffindor dorm room while the camera pants around to offer an over-the-shoulder view. Presumably, players will then be able to move on from here and enter the Gryffindor common rooms and the greater Hogwarts castle.
Without more context, it’s difficult to say what exactly this clip means. It’s possible thatHogwarts Legacyplayers will need to sleep to pass time, but it’s also possible that it only happens as part of a scripted event. It’s also a bit strange that theHogwarts Legacyplayable characterwas sleeping in their wizard robes. This calls into question how many outfits players will be able to wear; maybe they’ll be stuck with standard robes for the whole game, but that’s just speculation at this time.
In any case, this small tease is more than whatHogwarts Legacyfans have been treated to since the initial reveal, so it’s still cause for excitement. ThefirstHogwarts Legacytrailerwas cinematic in nature and didn’t actually show any gameplay, so it will definitely be interesting to see how the game works in action.
With 14 minutes ofHogwarts Legacygameplay set to be shown off at thenext PlayStation State of Play event, fans can hopefully expect a deep dive on the game. In the meantime, maybe Avalanche Software will release more short teasers to help pass the time.
