Unicorns are known to be majestic creatures that feel impossible to stumble upon; that is also the case inHogwarts Legacy. It’s exceptionally tricky to find a Unicorn in the vast world ofHogwarts Legacyto the point where players are more likely to run into a Hippogriff than a Unicorn.
Luckily, there are some clues players can follow to catch a Unicorn inHogwarts Legacy, like the fact that the magical creature lives deep in the Forbidden Forest, just like in theHarry Pottermovie. However, keep in mind that there are many steps Wizards and Witches must complete beforehand in order to catch a Unicorn successfully.

Breeding is even trickier because players need to keep going back and forth from the Den to spawn both a female Unicorn and a male Unicorn in Hogwarts Legacy. Like any other creature, it’s crucial to have a Nab-Sack and access to the Room of Requirement to successfully tame it and breed it.

Unicorn Locations In Hogwarts Legacy
Although the world ofHogwarts Legacyis massive, Unicorns can only be found in one single location, which isnorthwest of Upper Hogsfield. To reach it, players can teleport to Upper Hogsfield Floo Flame and descend to the Unicorn Den whether on foot, with a Broom, or by a mountedBeast inHogwarts Legacy.
Unicorns are majestic and shy creatures that sport a horn on their heads. It is said that if someone is lucky enough, they might spot a shimmering golden-coated Unicorn inHogwarts Legacy.
How To Catch Unicorn
To catch a Unicorn, players need to complete the following steps:
The Unicorn capture meter is divided into six slots, so players may need to recast spells to catch it.
The Nab-Sack is obtained after completing The Elf, the Nab-Sack, and the Loom quest. As for other utilities like the Beast Feed and Beast Petting Brush, players will receive them once they attend a Beast Class. Furthermore, to shelter the captured Magical Beasts,unlocking the Room of Requirement is a must inHogwarts Legacy.
On a side note, players should know thatonly one Unicorn is available in its Den. So to catch multiple ones, players should re-visit the Unicorn Denevery once in a while to catch another one.
How To Complete The Elf, The Nab-Sack, And The Loom Quest
Upon attending the first Beast Class and finishing The Helm of Urtkoquest inHogwarts Legacy, players will receive a letter from Professor Weasley about a new feature in the Room of Requirement. Deek the Elf then proceeds to teach players about the new unlocked Utility called the Nab-Sack which helps catch beasts and throw them into a magical space.
The second part of the quest begins when Deek teaches players how to rescue Beasts in three different Dens; Puffskein, Jobberknoll, and Mooncalf. The final step is to return to the Room of Requirement and unlock the first Vivarium.
How To Breed Unicorn
To breed Unicorns inHogwarts Legacy, players need to catch both versions of the mount (female and male) as well as build the necessary utilities in the Room of Requirement.
Catch Both Versions
Like anycreature inHogwarts Legacy, players can breed Unicorns, albeit a bit more time-consuming than the other Beasts, as the process requires an extra step. Unlike other creatures which can be found in groups, only one Unicorn can be seen when visiting its Habitat near Upper Hogsfield. This means that it can either be a male or female, forcing players to stop by the Beast Den multiple times.
Necessary Utilities To Breed
To unlock the ability to breed Beasts, players mustpurchase the blueprints of the Beast Breeding Pen from the Tomes and Scrollsshop in Hogsmeade. After that, head to the Room of Requirement and use the ConjuringSpell inHogwarts Legacyto craft the Beast Breeding Pen inside the desired Vivarium. Interact with the book in front of the Pen and a Unicorn should appear as an option if players possess both versions in the Vivarium.
How To Unlock Room Of Requirement
To unlockthe Room of Requirement inHogwarts Legacy, players must complete the Tomes and Tribulations quest. After that, wait for a letter from Professor Weasley then head to the Astronomy Tower to meet her. Since The Room of Requirement is a main quest, it’s quite easy to complete it since it only requires following the game’s given tasks.
Once players transform the room from its original shape to their own safe space, the Room of Requirement becomes available for access from theAstronomy Tower’s Secret Rooms section inHogwarts Legacy. Acquiring the Nab-Sack will automatically unlock Vivariums in the room.
