Tides of War and Worry is one of two newJunon Region side queststhat become available during Chapter 12 ofFinal Fantasy 7 Rebirth. It sees Cloud and the rest of the party putting on an elaborate performance in order to distract a group of children from the ever-growing threat of war.

The Dolphin Show mini-game that’s introduced in the side quest is fairly similar to a section found in the game’s fourth chapter, only with a few key differences. As such,Final Fantasy 7 Rebirthplayers who are hoping to complete Tides of War and Worry will need to understand how Dolphin Show works.

How to Start the Tides of War and Worry Side Quest in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth

Players will be able to start Tides of War and Worry after reachingChapter 12 ofFinal Fantasy 7 Rebirthby accepting the job from the Under Junon Community Noticeboard. After doing so, they’ll need to head down to the waterfront and look for Priscilla, who is discussing the possibility of war with a group of worried children. Yuffie suggests that Cloud puts on a show to help distract the kids from their unfortunate future, at which point, players will be asked if they want to begin the Dolphin Show mini-game.

How to Play the Dolphin Show Mini-Game

As mentioned above, Dolphin Show is a lot like the dolphin riding section found inChapter 4 ofFinal Fantasy 7 Rebirth, with players having to navigate a pre-determined course while hitting balls to increase their speed and avoiding obstacles. The key differences are that there’s no time limit this time around and players won’t have to complete a series of quick time events when they arrive at the finish line. That’s not to say that there isn’t a target time though, with players needing tofinish in under two minutesin order to complete the side quest.

In terms of strategy, players should aim tohit as many of the beach balls as possibleandtry not to get too close to the floating buoys. The drift mechanic can be useful for making some of the course’s tighter turns, but holding the R2 button to activate it slows the dolphin down a little, so players shouldrefrain from drifting until the last possible momentso as to avoid losing too much speed. Achieving a time of 1:40 or under will see players rewarded with the Rank 3 prize and also a specialJohnny’s Seaside Inn collectible, so this should be their target, if at all possible.
