After Psyduck lands safely, Cynthia seems to realize that her Garchomp has been left wide open, and Psyduck’s trainer calls for its attack. Psyduck unleashes its psychic power, smashing Garchomp between massive boulders, winning the fight. A final shot shows the victory photo the trainer took with Cynthia as Psyduck and their other Pokemon enjoy some casual rest time.
Psyduck’s Enduring Charm
Although Psyduck isn’t the strongest Pokemon, it’s nonetheless remained popular since its inception. Psyduck’s dopey expression, chronic headaches, andMisty’s Psyduck’s inability to do even the most basic things a Water-type Pokemon should be able to in the anime, like swimming, has charmed fans time and time again. While Psyduck wasn’t the absolute worst match-up for a fight like this, having a type advantage over Garchomp’s Ground-typing with its Water-typing, seeing it unleash its true psychic potential on the Pokemon is extremely satisfying to watch.
