As the release ofIron Man VRis rapidly approaching, more details about the game are emerging. Lead director for theIron Man VRgame, Ryan Payton, shared some exciting information on the PlayStation Blog.

Iron Man VRendured a couple of delays, but will finally release on July 3rd as a deeper game than previously expected. Ryan Payton explains in the PlayStation Blog that many fans want VR games with longer experiences with a good storyline. Payton saysIron Man VRwill deliver a deep Tony Stark story and before recent testing data, would take about four to five hours to complete the campaign. However, based on the data, Payton says the expected playtime will be around double the initial estimate.

IfIron Man VRis around 10 hours of campaign, players will get a full Tony Stark story and immersive gameplay. A few locations are also shown off in the PlayStation Blog and include Marvel locations and real locations. Locations such as the S.H.I.E.L.D helicarrier, a decommissioned Stark facility, and the city of Shanghai are shown off with brief videos. The Shanghai video shows off the beautiful environment and how it looks flying around skyscrapers in the Iron Man suit at fast speeds. Players were also able to get a feel for the suitin the playable demo, which gave players a preview of flying, combat, and the 3D HUD.

Ryan Payton also reveals more details about the flying and combat by giving fans a look at how different armor features will work. Features such as the Unibeam, rocket punches, and secondary weapons are shown off in exciting action. Payton also shows off features for movement like boosts and an extremely cool looking “Ground Pound”, which launches the player towards the ground for a devastating attack from above.

The depth of combat will surely give players many ways to blast enemies and with double the expected playtime, Payton believes by the end of the campaign, players will be experts in the Iron Man suit. With so many details shared so close to release, it would not be a surprise if players are jumping at the chance at this Iron Man experience.
