The popular British YouTuber and boxer KSI recently admitted to accidentally giving away $20,000 shoes for free. The giveaway of thehighly desired shoesdoes not seem to be recent, but KSI only publicly revealed what happened to his fans recently.
KSI’s accidental shoe donation surfaced during aYouTubevideo with Complex, who brought up the incident and asked KSI to talk about it. Complex had him hold the same model of shoes as the ones he gave away for good measure. KSI seemed a bit embarrassed, but he laughed about the incident and explained how he’d given away such an expensive pair shoes.

The $20,000 shoes KSI gave away were a pair of Red October Yeezys from Ye West’s coveted shoe line, which came from apartnership with Adidas. Not realizing how much they were worth, KSI gave them to charity because he wanted to clear up some space in his house. KSI only realized his mistake when he mentioned it to one of his friends, who was another member of the Sidemen YouTuber group.
Giving away such expensive shoes was embarrassing for KSI, but as someone who makes hundreds of thousands of dollars a year, $20,000 isn’t as much money as it would be for someone else. KSI first started making his fortune on YouTube, and went on to become successful in many other things, like rapping, acting, creating an energy drink, and boxing. Prime, the energy drink he released with Logan Paul, became so popular that people started scalping it and selling it for insane prices, with one can being sold for up to 100 pounds in the UK. Right now, though, most of the attention is focused on his boxing career and hisupcoming fight with Jake Paul, another YouTuber-gone-boxer, which is sure to bring him even more wealth and fame.
Shoes with high value are sometimes used for charities, fundraisers, and auctions, like theXbox 20th anniversary charity fundraiser, during which Xbox and Adidas created and sold a limited-edition shoe for Xbox’s 20th anniversary. Thanks to their popularity, expensive shoes like these can lead to huge contributions and donations. The unknown recipient of the Red Octobers could have made a lot of money by selling the shoes to someone who knew their worth. KSI accidentally giving away the shoes didn’t have a huge financial impact on him, but it probably made someone else’s whole year.
