Summary
WhenMarvelintroduced theX-Menas a group of super-powered mutants who wanted to be accepted by the world, it made sense for them to also create a group of super-powered mutants who were so disillusioned they didn’t want acceptance. This led to the formation of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants.

Led by Magneto, a holocaust survivor who had seen the worst of humankind, this group used their power to terrorize theMarveluniverse. While this led to epic battles with theX-Men, the Brotherhood often had similar goals to Charles Xavier’s squad, but they were also willing to harm others to get their way.
8Toad
At first sight, Toad doesn’t look like much, but over time he would become one of the most valuable members of the Brotherhood. Possessing amphibious-like mutations that change his skin to be similar to a Toad, he’s able to stick to most surfaces and has a tongue so long it would make Gene Simmons jealous.
Toad appears in the firstX-Menfilm as one of Magneto’s loyal henchmen. He is an integral part of the film’s success even if his exit has been panned for years due to the bad joke delivered by Storm before defeating him.

7Sabretooth
Sabretooth is essentially the evil version of Wolverine. He has similar regenerative abilities, animal-like claws, and a thirst for violence. However, he doesn’t have the same moral compass, soSabretooth is willing to do far more evil thingsthan Wolverine would ever consider.
InX-Men Origins: Wolverine, the filmmakers made the pair brothers, and inX-Men,the pair had some epic fights in the woods of Canada. In the comics, Sabretooth was recognized as Wolverine’s most dangerous enemy.

6Scarlet Witch
With Wanda Maximoff becoming a beloved hero turned villain in the MCU, many fans may not know that in the comics she was a founder and the original team leader of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants. She didn’t have full control over her powers while she was with the team, but her mind-altering powers always made her a force.

Scarlet Witch would leave the group and has served as both a hero and a villain in the comics as well as the MCU. TheX-Menfilms never introduce her, but it will be interesting to see if she has any ties to the groupwhen the MCU finally introduces the X-Men.
5Quicksilver
The Scarlet Witch’s twin brother, Quicksilver, also joined the Brotherhood. He had a far worse temper and seemed to fit in better with the group of evil mutants. Quicksilver could run at super speeds and would enter fights with reckless abandon. He left the Brotherhood at the same time as his sister.
Quicksilver is the rare example of someone used in both the FoxX-Menuniverse and the Marvel Cinematic Universe, played by Evan Peters and Aaron Taylor-Johnson respectively. He was killed in his first MCU appearance inAvengers: Age of Ultron. However,Quicksilver was presented as a hero in multipleX-Menfilms.

4Pyro
Introduced as the antithesis to Ice Man, Pyro is one of the most dedicated members of theBrotherhood of Evil Mutants. He has the ability to manipulate fire which makes him one of the deadliest mutants. It also leads to some epic battles between Pyro and Ice Man as fire battles ice.
InX2: X-Men United, Pyro is introduced as a student at Xavier’s school and a friend to both Ice Man and Rogue. He works with them and Wolverine before leaving with Magneto when the eventual mutant split happens. InX3, Pyro is seen as Magneto’s right-hand man.

3Juggernaut
From a brute strength standpoint,Juggernaut is one of the most powerful members. Juggernaut is the half-brother of Professor Xavier and gained his powers after claiming a gem with the power of Cyttorak. Despite this, he has no other known mutant powers.

Juggernaut makes an appearance inX3: The Last Standwhere he has a strong presence before eventually being outsmarted by Kitty Pryde. Fans weren’t fond of the way he was defeated, and many want a different representation of Juggernaut in future films.
2Mystique
This mutant shapeshifter has more often than not sided with the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, but she will occasionally work with the X-Men as well. She can transform into anyonemaking her the perfect impersonator and assassin. She is one of the mutants other than Magneto to lead a version of the team along with Scarlet Witch and Toad.
In the original films, Mystique is presented as Magneto’s closest confidante who helps him in his quest to defeat the humans. After the reboot, she is shown to have been a close friend of Charles Xavier who was so proud of her mutation that she would become a big enough threat for Magneto to help stop.

1Magneto
Magneto is a constant in the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants. He along with Scarlet Witch founded the Brotherhood, and he has been involved in every single incarnation. With the power to control magnetic fields which gives him control over most elements on Earth,Magneto was considered an Omega-level mutant.
He is the first super villain the X-Men ever fought. He has been the main villain in comics, cartoons, and films. While he has a similar goal to Charles Xavier when it comes to a safe home for mutants, he doesn’t care what happens to the average person due to the mistreatment he suffered during World War II. His justification may have been correct, but his methods weren’t, and he was responsible for putting together this truly evil team.
