Mia Goth (X, Pearl, Infinity Pool), who recently joined the cast of the widely anticipatedBladereboot, is rumored to be playing a familiar Marvel villain. However, fans are questioning exactly which version of that villain they’ll see in the film.
A reboot of 1998’sBladeadaptationstarring Wesley Snipes in the lead role, the new film has been fueling speculation of what audiences should expect. Pre-production forMarvel Studios’Bladeis underway, with casting decisions being made and scripts being finalized for a potential 2024 release. Based on the comic of the same name,Bladefollows the adventures of a half-human, half-vampire intent on hunting his evil brethren. The reboot, directed by Yann Demange (Lovecraft Country), stars Mahershala Ali (House of Cards) as Blade, with Goth in an as-yet-unannounced role.

One is the daughter of the famous Dracula, and the other is an evil sorceress that appears in the pages ofGhost Rider. Either variation is equally likely, and many have suggested thatBlademay combine aspects of both characters to create Goth’s role.
Goth, who has been gathering momentum as one of the brightest stars of horror in the past several years, is coming in hot off the success of Ti West’sXfranchise, which expectsa third film this fall titledMaxxxine, and Brandon Cronenberg’sInfinity Pool, where Goth plays an unhinged woman of the social elite involved in bizarre human cloning endeavors. Goth seems a natural fit for an evil sorceress or the daughter of the famous Dracula, so fans are excited about Goth’s role. It will likely be memorable and delightfully evil, making her a formidable foil to the famous day-walking dhampir.
