The popular fighting gameMultiVersushas recently released in its Open Beta, and fans are getting familiar with the cast of well-known playable fighters that the game boasts. With the character roster being comprised from many of the intellectual properties owned by Warner Brothers, there is inherently quite a diverse range to choose from, both in terms of IPs and playstyles.
An inevitable byproduct of the development status ofMultiVersusis the differing levels of effectiveness and power that different fighters have. Being in Beta, there are already calls to buff many character stats, as well as calls to nerf some of the more overpowered characters that are currently dominating the game’s meta.

Finn From Adventure Time
Adventure Time’sFinnis one character that is currently topping the meta and discourse surroundingMultiVersus. For a multitude of reasons, players are considering themselves lucky to not encounter Finn in a 1v1 within the current build ofMultiVersus.
Finn is one ofMultiVersus’three current Assassin class fighters, meaning he is built for serious combos and the potential to deal huge amounts of damage with fast attacks. The relatively simple nature of achieving said combos is a primary reason why many think Finn deserves a nerf, with the effort to damage ratio of Finn’s gameplay making many other more complex characters obsolete. A nerf to Finn should come in the form of a damage reduction to his combos, or at the very least a reduction in attack range that pressures Finn players to take riskier plays while giving other players an advantage.

Shaggy From Scooby-Doo
Scooby-Doo’sShaggy is one of the more surprising additions toMultiVersus’roster, with the game playing into the popular memes that depict Shaggy as a form of Saiyan-like super-powered being. The entertainment value in watching Shaggy square up against the likes of Superman would already see him be a popular choice for fans, but his role as a hybridBruiser class withinMultiVersushas seen him be one of the most effective fighters on offer.
Not only is Shaggy’s damage-dealing ability quite high as a Bruiser, but many seem to think he has an unusually high amount of armor-based moves as a part of his kit, making his resilience also a thing to behold. Shaggy’s charged air-based side attack has devastating knockback that can turn the tide of anyMultiVersusmatch, and since some fans are asking for changes in response, it would not be surprising to see Shaggy get nerfed soon.

Bugs Bunny From Looney Tunes
An unlikely contender for the most overpowered spot onMultiVersus’roster is the iconic cartoon character Bugs Bunny.Bugs is one ofMultiVersus’Mage characters, and is a hybrid attacker to boot. As a Mage, Bugs has a varied array of projectiles, traps, and mobility skills that can be used to dominate the battlefield from any range, all while boasting a commendable level of base melee damage.
Bugs Bunny has already been nerfed inMultiVersus. That being said, many players believe this nerf was not enough, with many of the topMultiVersusplayers still citing Bugs as their go-to fighter of choice. With how popular the Mage remains even after the initial nerf, a more thorough adjustment may need to be made in the near future to fully address the sheer power of thisLooney Tunesstar. Luckily, Player First Games has mentioned plans to adjust Bugs Bunny after EVO, so maybe he’ll land in a healthier place on tier lists soon.
MultiVersusis available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
