How on Earth could a school take a bunch of youngsters and subject them to such dangerous conditions without child abuse protestors bombarding their vicinity? Why, because of Youthful Heroine: Recovery Girl, of course. This Hero’s quirks arean essential asset to U.A. High School, as her healing kiss provides an adequate safety net for their hazardous training activities.
However, students and Heroes can consider themselves lucky that Chiyo Shuzenji was not influenced by the forces of evil in her Youthful days, as her quirk has potentially fatal consequences. This nurse’s superpowers could have potentially catastrophic consequences if found in the wrong hands; here’s to hoping All For One doesn’t make the same connection.

Quirks and All
Like any mother with the magical power to heal a boo-boo with a kiss, Recovery Girl’s quirk allows her to mend broken bones and treat severe wounds, rejuvenating the patient’s health from the inside out, at an accelerated rate. Despite what it seems, this heroic nurse isnot doing the actual healing because her quirk simply augments the body’s own ability to repair itself; so technically, whoever receives these enchanted smooches is actually doing all the work.
Recovery Girl’s power is capable of extraordinary feats, which seems to include almost everything medically possible (therefore excluding limb regrowth or reanimating corpses.) However, she does not dish out smooches like free candy, Chiyo is a prim and proper lady who deserves to be wooed. Before administering her supernatural treatment, Recovery Girl has to personally assess the injured patient’s condition to ensure their body is capable of handling the rapid healing, otherwise, theycould end up depleted of all stamina. And that doesn’t simply mean a lack of energy, instead, it leads down a one-way road to death.

Recovery Girl is cautious about using her quirk, as Deku quickly discovers that the Youthful Heroine’s kiss is not guaranteed at the end of each battle. To remain as efficient as possible, Chiyo Shuzenji is also a qualified medical practitioner who can rely on traditional medicine when necessary. She performs surgery onDeku during the UA Sports Festival Arcbefore puckering up, but can only heal his hand to a certain extent. Due to the increasingly reckless behavior of the students, Recovery Girl threatens to refuse further treatment for those who impulsively put themselves in harm’s way, fearing that one day she might be completely powerless to save them.
The Kiss Of Death
Chiyo Shuzenji is evidently a particularly compassionate and warmhearted individual who shares avery close bond with All Might, but what if her path in life took a darker turn? Imagine a malicious Recovery Girl (obviously with a more villainous name) who used her quirk to drain the energy from her victims, administering the ultimate Kiss Of Death. The celebrated support Hero would become a thing of nightmares, roaming for victims in much the same way aDementorwould, leaving a drastically different impression on her “patients.”

The fact that her mouth can extend to extreme lengths gives this granny much greater maneuverability and a more desirable reach, and who knows at what speed Recovery Girl can smack those lips. This malleable mouth (however strange looking) could probably be relatively inconspicuous; a potentially stealthy snake capable ofsneaking up on its unsuspecting victimto deliver the final blow. Even in her old age, Chiyo Shuzenji has the potential to cause some significant damage if positioned at the perfect spot on the battlefield, combined with impeccable timing and strategic planning.
A Femme Fatal
As a League of Villains member, it would be best for Recovery Girl to have a sufficient view of whatever battles are in progress to adequately assess which contender would be more beneficial to target (and she would therefore never instigate a fight herself.) If one of her comrades from theParanormal Liberation Frontfound themselves in a pickle, Recovery Girl could possibly heal them with her quirk, however, it is the enemy Heroes would be more likely to receive some “affection.” If the odds begin to weigh in the Villains favor, Chiyo could strike at the most (in)opportune time (depending on how one looks at it) to administer a kiss and essentially crippling, if not killing, her already-injured victims, one by one.
Since it has never been done before (so far as fans are aware) it is unclear if Recovery Girl’s quirk would have any effect on an uninjured recipient. Because her powers accelerate one’s own healing capabilities, they may not be able to activate without a warranted reason, however, the League of Villainswould be more than happy to assist in the matter by roughing up some victims first. An evil Recovery Girl would therefore probably sit quite high up in the criminal ranks as she would likely receive top-notch protection and rarely be expected to get her hands dirty (in much the same way that Heroes regard her status as almost akin to Nezu’s.) Don’t take this old lady for granted, she is essentially the glue that holds UA Academy together.
