Fortniteis no stranger to crossovers. Most recently,Epic Games' battle royale is adding Ezio and Eivor– two fan-favorite protagonists from theAssassin’s Creedfranchise – into the game starting on April 7th. It’s been a busy year forFortnite, as the game continues to add several pop-culture icons such as Marvel’s Doctor Strange, and may seek to add even more in 2022.
There is little doubt Epic Games has done a wondrous job in maintainingFortnitesince the game became a staggering success, and its numerous well-implemented crossovers have played a key role in makingEpic Games into a business worth 8 billion dollars. Rumors are circling on social media that a new collaboration with Disney may be in the works, and that the new addition to the game might just come from a galaxy far, far away.

According to a tweet by iFireMonkey, and gleamed from the State of Unreal event hosted today by Epic Games where itlaunched Unreal Engine 5, the second monitor showed aFortnitegame folder hinting at its possible future crossovers, with mentions of Family Guy,Doom, Indiana Jones, and even the Dark Lord of the Sith, Darth Vader.
This would hardly be the first timeFortnitehas had a collaboration with theStar Warsfranchise, as the game famously featured Emperor Palpatine’s return during alimitedStar WarsFortniteeventthat premiered shortly beforeThe Rise of Skywalker. Since then, Epic Games has added plenty ofStar Warscontent to the game, with the most recentFortniteinclusions being Fennec Shand and the towering Wookiee Krrsantan from theBook of Boba Fett.
The game itself has also seen a dramatic shake-up in what it can offer to its players beyond collaborative events and cosmetics, asFortnitelaunched a Zero Build mode, stripping away one of the game’s cornerstone elements from its gameplay. A feature that was often requested by players prior to its official release, and one that popular streamers such as Dr DisRespect believe has yet to reach its full potential. Zero Build mode proves that the developers of Epic Games aren’t willing to let the game become stale just yet.
Needless to say, the IP’s nature being that of a relatively blank canvas has proven to be one ofFortnite’sbiggest strengths, as it has allowed Epic Games to easily partner up with many companies to seamlessly integrate their intellectual properties into the game.
