These discoveries were made through datamining, but in March the leaks were confirmed to be true as anofficial trailer forNintendo Switch Sportsshowed fans that they could once again create their own characters. New screenshots provided by Nintendo show Matt in Chambara, one of many game modes available forNintendo Switch Sportsat launch. Matt initially appeared inWii Sportsand was one of the toughest CPU opponents for players to take on as they sought to become the best at any given sport.

Matt was the champion of boxing in the originalWii Sportsand served as such a tough opponent that players have remembered him even so many years after the game launched. InWii Sports Resort, Matt returned much to the dismay of many players, as they had to face him in another combat sport. As the champion of swordplay inWii Sports Resortand the boxing titan ofWii Sports, Matt has been feared and loved by Nintendo fans for years, making his return inNintendo Switch Sportsa welcome one.

Besides seeing Matt return in all his glory,Nintendo Switch Sports’new screenshots show off a few other Miis that will be returning to the game. Although if a player cannot find a specific Mii that they remember fromWii SportsorWii Sports Resort, they are welcome to make them on the Switch. There’s the possibility of other Miis being brought in later as well, as it seems Nintendo has plans to consistently bring outnew content forNintendo SwitchSports, as shown by the inclusion of the Golf update.
