In a year filled withmajor surprises in the world of gaming,Nintendomakes a sudden surprise announcement that tomorrow on December 10th will be their Indie World Showcase livestream on the company’s YouTube channel. This Indie World livestream will feature about 20 minutes worth of upcoming indie games for theNintendoSwitch.

Though the Switch has become a major success due to first-party Nintendo titles likeThe Legend of Zelda: Breath of the WildandPokémon SwordandShield, it’s also become known as a great platform for indie titles, even more so than the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. TheZelda-themed indie rhythm gameCadence of Hyrulewas announced during a previous Indie World Showcase, so there’s a chance fans could get surprised by another Nintendo focused indie game this time as well.

What’s interesting is that Nintendo has chosen to stream their Indie World Showcase just a few hours after Sony’s “State of Play” stream will end. Indie games won’t draw too many eyes away from AAA game reveals likeThe Last of Us Part II, but it’s clear Nintendo isn’t afraid of getting out staged by Sony. If that’s the case, Nintendo must be ready to unveil something that they know will blow their fans away.

So far, there’s no actual news about what will be featured tomorrow.Shovel Knight’s final expansions (King of CardsandShowdown) will release tomorrow, so those will probably get announced for the Switch.Cadence of Hyrulemight get an expansion, but that’s just speculation. It’s hard to say what new games could be announced (since it could be literally anything), but it’s very likely Switch players will see some ports of previously released indie games. There were some really great indie games released this year–includingOuter Wilds,Disco Elysium, andVoid Bastards–that have yet to be released for the Switch.

Though these and many other indie games are available on Steam, Valve’s lack of curation means many new titles go unnoticed. Nintendo’s eShop is a newer platform that has allowed for many overlooked games to thrive on, which is why so many indie developers have already ported their games to the Switch. Plus there’s a lot more people buying and playing Switch now due to there being so manyamazing sales for the systemthis holiday season, though some of thoseBlack Friday Switches may be older models.

Fans will just have to tune in to Nintendo’s livestream tomorrow to find out what new indie games will soon be available for the Switch. Who knows? Maybe they’ll unveil aSuper Mario-themedShovel Knightexpansion.

Nintendo’s Indie World Showcase livestream airs tomorrow, December 10th at 10 AM PT/1 PM ET onNintendo’s YouTube channel.
