Co-op Soulslike gameRemnant: From the Ashesis making its way to the Nintendo Switch, as revealed by a new trailer from THQ Nordic. First released in 2019,Remnant: From the Ashesearned mostly positive reviews from critics and is generally considered one of the better Soulslike games not developed by FromSoftware.
Remnant: From the Ashesreviewspraised the game’s co-op implementation, which allows players to team together, explore the game world, and conquer challenging bosses. It also earned high marks for offering a new twist on the Soulslike formula, focusing on guns and shooting as opposed to melee combat like most games in the genre. The game was not without its critics, but there’s a reason why it’s sold millions of copies and was successful enough to justify a sequel.

Soon, Nintendo Switch gamers will get to see what all the fuss is about withRemnant: From the Ashes. While a specific release date was not announced, the trailer released by THQ Nordic does promise that the game is coming to Nintendo’s home console/handheld hybrid system “soon.” The trailer also showsRemnant: From the Ashesgameplaycaptured on the Switch itself. While not a ton of gameplay is shown, what’s displayed seems to indicate thatRemnantis getting the expected graphical downgrade in its transition to the Switch, but it seems to perform well enough. Fans won’t know for sure how wellRemnantruns on the Switch until they have the chance to test it out themselves, of course.
What isn’t clear from the trailer is if the Nintendo Switch version ofRemnant: From the Asheswill be coming with the post-launch DLC or not. In the years afterRemnantreleased, it received two substantial expansions:Swamps of CorsusandSubject 2923. Both expansions added new areas, bosses, items, game modes, and more for players to check out, so it would be a shame ifRemnantcomes to Switch without this additional content. More details on that will likely come to light when the Switch release date is revealed.
While Nintendo Switch owners will finally have the chance to playRemnant: From the Ashes, it doesn’t look like they will have the opportunity to play the sequel.
