Not many content creators on Twitch or YouTube choose to keep their face hidden from their audience. While some may start out off camera, most usually show what they look like sooner rather than later, because it can be difficult to thwart the attempts of fans to uncover their favorite content creator’s face. Sometimes the mystery about what a person looks like adds to their hype, and some creators likeCorpse Husband fear that a face reveal could ultimately be disappointingfor fans.

RELATED:YouTuber Dream Finally Reveals His Face

At the end of September,Dream announced that he was finally going to reveal his face, and the excitement grew quickly. Just the announcement on his YouTube community tab grabbed 360,000 likes. When the video finally premiered on October 2, it drew an audience of more than 1.5 million viewers within four minutes of starting. Currently, just four hours after premiering, the video sits at nearly 10 million views and 1.3 million likes.

The reason for Dream deciding to finally reveal his face is understandable and fairly straightforward. After years of remaining hidden, the content creator wants to start meeting some of the friends he’s made online and so it wouldn’t be possible to keep his identity concealed. The YouTuber gave a little insight into how difficult it’s been, especially with people constantly trying to uncoverDream’s appearance and even dox him. “I’ve been bunkered up,” Dream said in the reveal video. “The people trying to leak my face, trying to find out what I look like… There’s too many.”

Dream has stated that, ultimately, the face reveal onYouTubewon’t change much about how he creates content, although there may be some videos where he now appears on camera. Because the vast majority of his content isMinecraftgameplay footage without need for a face cam, that will mostly remain the same.

So far, the feedback on Dream’s face reveal has been overwhelmingly positive, which might be an encouraging sign for other social media personalities who continue to remain concealed. Corpse Husband is another content creator who has yet to officially reveal his face, though an image purported to be him leaked online in October 2021. Hopefully, the supportive reception of Dream’s face reveal shows that most fans will be encouraging and kind if Corpse ever decides to officially show what he looks like.
