TheOverwatchfranchise has traditionally stayed away from Valentine’s Day, instead focusing on seasonal events for other holidays. That’s changing withOverwatch 2, which is hosting a special Ultimate Valentine’s Day event to celebrate the annual holiday.TheOverwatch 2Ultimate Valentine’s Day event runs until February 28. During the event, players can check out the new Team Deathmatch mode called Love of Geometry, with Cupid Hanzos battling it out with the character’s classic Scatter Arrow ability at their disposal. The non-canon dating sim has players attempt toromance Genji or Mercy. AnyOverwatch 2fans that take the time to play the dating sim can earn some rewards that will be added to the actual game as part of a future update.
It’s unclear why theOverwatch 2dating simisn’t available in-game, but it should still make for a unique distraction for fans. It’s just the latest addition to the franchise, with Blizzard recently launchingOverwatch 2Season 3 as well. Taking fan feedback into account,Overwatch 2Season 3 has implemented many quality-of-life changes designed to not only keep dedicated players engaged but hopefully bring back lapsed players.
Besides quality-of-life improvements,Overwatch 2Season 3’s biggest addition is thenew Antarctic Peninsula map. A new Control map, Antarctic Peninsula is one of the only maps in the game that features ice as a major element, which should go a long way in helping it stand out from the rest of the maps in the game.
There was no new character inOverwatch 2Season 3, but more characters are certainly in the works for the hero-shooter. Blizzard spent the first couple seasons ofOverwatch 2’s early access to get the game established, and now it’s hoping to set up a pattern when it comes to new characters and maps.Overwatch 2players should be able to expect a new character and a new map every other season, so there should be plenty of content for fans to look forward to in the months ahead.
Overwatch 2is out now in early access for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
