Reddit user Tin_Can0624 recently shared a brief video of their laptop setup in which they’re opting to control theirOverwatch 2hero with a paired Wii remote rather than the keyboard and touchpad. TheOverwatch 2player begins by showing that the Wii’s Nunchuk is used to move their character, and then they highlight that the Wii remote controls the aiming they had while winning thisOverwatchmatch. Unlike some gamers that have usedthe Nintendo Wii remoteto aim in a shooting game, Tin_Can0624 has made it so that tilting the controller from one side to another allows for a quick 180-degree turn, while moving it up and down is properly reflected on the screen.

Based on Tin_Can0624’s clip, they were playing as Moira on theOverwatch 2map called Dorado, which was one of the locations that jumped to the sequel fromOverwatch. Tin_Can0624 has suggested that they were getting about one kill per gyroscopic movement, which suggests thatOverwatch 2players could avoid his attacks by moving out of view. OneOverwatch 2fan pointed out that utilizing the Wii sensor bar effectively rather than the tilt controls may produce pinpoint accuracy after some practice.

The Bluetooth tech in the Wii remote allowed Tin_Can0624 to connect the controller to their laptop easily, but the aiming may need some work to allow forOverwatch 2competitivelevels of gameplay. Given that the aiming was more tilt-based than most Nintendo Wii shooters, theOverwatch 2gameplay may not have felt exactly as it would have if it released during the seventh generation of consoles. Regardless, securing a victory with the Wii’s unique controllers is impressive.

Overwatch 2is available now for Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
