Overwatch 2’s October 4 launch is quickly approaching, but until then, Blizzard is going to celebrate the originalOverwatchand its six years of fun.Overwatchis currently holding a special Anniversary Remix: Vol. 3 event, which will be ending on August 30. The event is full of quirky remixed skins and surprises, even bringing back some past seasonal brawls. The latest addition toOverwatchis the returning Halloween event Junkenstein’s Revenge. Those wanting to play better hurry, though, because it’s extremely limited.
A post on the officialOverwatchTwitter account on Friday confirmed thatJunkenstein’s Revengewill be back as part of theOverwatchAnniversary Remix Vol. 3 event.Overwatchplayers can log in right now and check out Junkenstein’s Revenge well before Halloween begins. However, there’s a big catch. Junkenstein’s Revenge will only be available for one single day. Specific details about the returning Halloween event aren’t available but expect a new event to have arrived on Saturday.

Those interested in checking out Junkenstein’s Revenge can find it inOverwatch’s Arcade. Within it are the options for both the traditional Junkenstein’s Revenge mode, where players face a scripted sequence of bosses in a race to win as fast as possible. The other option is Junkenstein’s Endless, which will deliver wave after wave of nightmarish robots and Halloween horrors toOverwatchsquads.
Once Junkenstein’s Revenge ends, there will still be several days left before theAnniversary Remix Vol. 3event wraps up. The event as it stands has unlocked all ofOverwatch’s past event skins for players to purchase with in-game currency or earn through loot boxes. There are also several new remixed skins, too. As with Junkenstein’s Revenge, there are several past bits ofOverwatchcontent being brought back. For example, Lucioball was briefly available, andOverwatchArchives Missions will be available one last time on August 30.
TheOverwatchAnniversary Remix Vol. 3 also marks the last hoorah for loot boxes. Once August 30 is over, there will no longer beOverwatchloot boxesavailable for purchase. Standard loot boxes will still be given as rewards inOverwatch, but only untilOverwatch 2launches with its new rewards. All unopened loot boxes will be automatically opened on September 14.
Overall, theOverwatchAnniversary Remix Vol. 3 isn’t so much a major event as it is a goodbye to the past six years. One day of Junkenstein’s Revenge shows that the end of this era ofOverwatchis less of a priority than the start of the next era. PerhapsOverwatch 2will offer a more fitting Halloween celebration when it arrives in October.
Overwatchis available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
