During their journey inPaper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, players will come up against many difficult foes. However, none are quite as difficult as the Iron Clefts found in the Glitz Pit. AfterMario finds the way to Glitzville, he’ll join the popular fighting arena and battle his way to the top.
Starting in the minor leagues, players should easily make their way up to their qualifying match at Rank 11. But when Mario goes up against the Ranked 10 Iron Adonis Twins, players will find themselves in an impossibly difficult scenario: their opponents' iron hides are too tough to pierce.
How to Beat the Iron Adonis Twins
Though most of the combatants inPaper Mario: The Thousand-Year Doortalk a big game in the Glitz Pit, few can back up their claims as strongly as the Iron Adonis Twins. With an official defense of???, it’s surprising that this dynamic duo sits at the bottom of the major league rankings.
With the help of one ofthe game’s partner abilities, players can get all the information they can about the two Iron Clefts.Goombella’s Tattlewill reveal that no attack will work against their tough exterior, and suggests that, if true, the only way to beat one is to whack it with the other. Unfortunately, neither Mario nor any of his partners in the ring have the ability to do anything of the sort.
The Iron Adonis Twins are impossible to beat the first time around.Though it might seem counter-intuitive to some, the only way to progress in the game is to lose or flee from the fight. Mario will get knocked out and return to the minor league locker room, but not without earning his one-coin consolation prize.
If players previously saved the Mystic Egg from the hot dog stand,a new partner to join Mario’s partywill be waiting for them in the locker room. If not, players will need to exit the Glitz Pit and help chase it around the plaza outside.
With the Mystic Egg now in tow, Mario and company can return to the Glitz Pit. The egg is set to hatch after losing the match against the Iron Adonis Twins, so return to the ring and lose the match once again.
The egg hatches into the party’s latest addition, a young Yoshi with a fiery passion for battle. Though his stats and abilities are always the same,players can pick Yoshi’s colorby resetting and waiting a different amount of time before hatching.
When it’s Yoshi’s turn to attack, players can use hisGulpto inhale one of the Iron Clefts and spit it at the other. Ideally, players should rest before entering the fight or at least have enough FP on hand, as Gulp costs a whopping 4 FP per use.
The attack will damage both of the Iron Clefts, and set Mario on the path to victory. Make sure to protect Yoshi as the fight goes on, as he’ll need to keep using Gulp to win the bout. In the end, the party reigns victorious and Mario advances to the much nicer major league locker room.
