In an interview withThe Direct, Le revealed that he learnt “different pieces of the dance because they weren’t sure how much of Judomaster they wanted to incorporate.” Commending the choreographer Carissa Barton for coming up with the entertaining dance moves, Le was more than happy to learn the steps. However, just before filming thePeacemakeropening credits, Gunn decided to do “something special” with Judomaster.
Towards the end of the credits,Judomaster appears throughan opening in the floor and performs a gymnastic move before ending up on John Cena’s shoulder, as Eagly lands in front of them for a grand finale. However, that is not the “something special” that Gunn planned for Le’s character. Instead, he is seen lurking in the shadows in some other segments in the footage. Upon looking closely, fans will spot Judomaster peeking out at certain parts, which is a commentary on how the character is always “stalking Peacemaker.”
The spinoff series from Gunn’sThe Suicide Squadbrings together a new team of misfits working on the top-secret Project Butterfly. Apart from Cena and Le, the main cast includesJennifer Holland as Emilia Harcourt, Steve Agee as John Economos, Danielle Brooks as Leota Adebayo, Robert Patrick as Auggie Smith, Chukwudi Iwuji as Clemson Murn, and Freddie Stroma as Vigilante. All of them, and some other recurring cast members, all show up in the opening credits to perform the dance with deadpan looks.
