What is the Real Name of the Persona 4 Golden Main Character?
The official name ofPersona 4 Golden’s main character is Yu Narukami.While the character didn’t have an official name for some time, he wasofficially dubbed Yu NarukamiinPersona 4 ArenaandPersona 4: The Animation.
That said, Yu Narukami isn’t his name across allPersonamedia. In video game releases ahead ofPersona 4 Arena, his name was kept vague. He’s referred to as Hayato Asakawa inPersona 4 Visualive, a series of stage plays based on the games, and is Souji Seta in the officialPersona 4manga.
While this might sound unusual, multiple names for the main character is something of a tradition for thePersonaseries at this point. Both thePersona 3andPersona 5protagonists had different names depending on the piece of media they appeared in.
Persona 3’s male protagonist is officially named Makoto Yuki in the games, the series ofPersona 3movies, and the spin-off rhythm gamePersona 3: Dancing in Moonlight. However, he was named Minato Arisato in the officialPersona 3manga series and was Sakuya Shiomi across all thePersona 3stage plays.
