Two years after the release ofPersona 5, Atlus teased the existence of two newPersona 5games, one titledPersona 5 Rand the other titledPersona 5 S.Rturned out to bePersona 5 Royal, though fans of the series were certain thatSwould be a port ofPersona 5to Nintendo Switch. Thus, fans were let down when they came to find out that it was instead a spin-off game exclusively for the Switch titledPersona 5: Scramble.

Persona 5is a popular turn-based RPG that was released to worldwide critical acclaim back in 2017 and is the first new installment of the mainPersonaseries to be released within the last eight years. Following the success ofPersona 5,numerous spin-offs were subsequently released, including a rhythm game, an animated series, and two new games that are set to release in February and March of this year. This includes the aforementionedPersona 5 ScrambleandPersona 5 Royal, a revamped version of the main game with additional content, whose North Americanrelease date was recently announcedat the beginning of December.

Following the reveal ofPersona 5 Scramblethere were obviously a lot of fans that were upset thatPersona 5would not be coming to the Switch, after being presented witha large amount of solid evidence in support of that theory. However, according to a recent statement from Atlus Communications Manager Ari Advincula, it’s possible that a Switch port could still happen, under the condition that fans continue to ask for it.

When asked about the idea of a port to Nintendo Switch, Advincula stated that if the fans did not let Atlus know what they want from the company, then the company would never develop it. Sound logic to be sure.Persona 4 Golden, the universally popular port ofPersona 4,likely would not have been made if the developers did not think fans would want it.

ThePersonaseries has always had an incredibly dedicated following and ever sincePersona 5blew everyone away, fans have really started to consider a great number of possibilities that Atlus could deliver on. Atlus has already done so in the form of the 2019 remake of the cult classic romantic drama game puzzleCatherine, titledCatherine: Full Body.

Then again, there’s ultimately no guarantee. Die-hard fans of the series have been begging Atlus for years to remake the first twoPersonagames, but Atlus has expressed absolutely no level of interest in doing so. On the bright side, fans have also beenpetitioning Atlus to remakePersona 3, which seems more likely to happen given the recent release ofPersona 3: Dancing in Moonlight. It seems that the best fans can do for right now is to let their voices be heard and keep asking Atlus for a Switch port.

Persona 5is available now for the PS3 and PS4.
