A talented artist has created their idea for aPokemon ScarletandVioletfuture-inspired Paradox form of the first-generation Pokemon Marowak.Pokemonartists have embraced the opportunity provided by Game Freak’s introduction of Paradox forms inPokemon ScarletandViolet. Not only do they get to create a new version of an already existing Pokemon, but they get to do so with a fun future or ancient theme. This artist has chosen to do just that, selecting the Bone Keeper Pokemon Marowak for their focus.

Paradox Pokemon is a new feature added inPokemon Scarlet andViolet. Since the two games both feature time travel plot lines within their story, Pokemon from the past and the future have found their way into each game.Pokemon with future Paradox forms, seen inPokemon Violet, are often made metallic and robot-like. Pokemon with ancient Paradox forms, seen inPokemon Scarlet, will have a more Mesozoic Era dinosaur style of appearance.

Artist Indigotcg has decided to create their own take on a Paradox Pokemon. For the focus of their art, they chose theGround-type Pokemon Marowak, which was first introduced in the originalPokemongames way back in 1996. Rather than have a fully robotic Marowak, Indigotcg’s version looks like a Marowak wearing a sort of mech spacesuit. Their memorable bone weapon has also been transformed, becoming a beam saber, not unlike aStar Warslightsaber.

Sadly, it looks like Indigotcg hasn’t commented on their Reddit post, so it’s unclear what their inspiration for the Paradox Marowak was, what digital tools they used to make the art, or any other details about the piece. They do have a Twitter account, though, where they’ve shared dozens of Fakemon creations they’ve done in the past. Clearly, they’re passionate about making original Pokemon designs – and are obviously quite talented at it.

This isn’t even the first Paradox form for Marowak that Indigotcg has created. They’ve previously shared anancient Paradox Form of Marowak. In that piece of art, Marowak has taken on a more dinosaur-like form with a long tail, ridges down their spine, sharp teeth, and a larger bone for their weapon. It’s dramatically different from the future form of Marowak, to say the least.

For as popular as Paradox Pokemon are, there are still relatively few official versions of them inPokemon ScarletandViolet. There are currently 16 Paradox Pokemon, 8 future and 8 ancient, split betweenPokemon ScarletandViolet. More are on the way, though, infuturePokemon ScarletandVioletDLC. Perhaps Game Freak will see all of the fan art and decide to make many more.
