Where to Find Unown in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl
Unown can be encountered as soon as players reach Solaceon Town, which is quite early in thestory ofPokemon Brilliant DiamondandShining Pearl. The Solaceon Ruins can be found to the east of the town, and contain all the variant forms of Unown in the game. The Ruins themselves are a sprawling maze, with only one path through to the end.
In each room, players will be able to identify which is the correct path by reading the Unown-like symbols on the wall. These spell out phrases like “Top Left” or “Lower Right” indicating which way to go. If aBrilliant DiamondorShining Pearlplayerignores the instructions, they’ll find themselves in a dead-end room with only a single rock in it. However, in order to get all 26 of the basic Unown forms, players will need to not only visit each correct room, but all the dead ends too.

Catching Unown in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl
The easiest six UnownPokemon to catch inBrilliant DiamondandShining Pearlhave the form of the letters F, R, I, E, N, and D. These forms can be found in each of the large rooms in the Solaceon Ruins. The other 18 letters can only be found in dead ends, so players will need to run around in each dead end until they encounter an Unown. It’s recommended to use Repeat Balls to offer the best chance of catching each Unown.
Once players have caught all 26 Unown in the Solaceon Ruins, they should head to Route 214, just south ofVeilstone City. On the west side of the route is the Ruin Maniac’s Cave. The Maniac is digging through the rock, and will only finish when players have caught all 26 of the basic Unown. This will reveal a hidden chamber of the Solaceon Ruins, inside which players can encounter the final two Unown forms, exclamation point and question mark.
