Summary
APokemonfan has created regional and convergent forms of certain Pokemon. Since the introduction of the regional and convergent forms in Game Freak’s pocket monster series, fans have designed their own alternatePokemonthat have yet to be covered in the mainline games. The designs are not only unique and beautifully detailed, they also come with different types that bring new life to each form.
Regional forms were first introduced in generation seven, duringPokemon Sun and Moon. The games showcased eighteen alternate forms of well-established Pokemon, giving theaesthetic of a Hawaiian theme. Convergent Pokemon are the reinvention of existing Pokemon that bear resemblance to existing Pokemon but are not directly related to the past species. Wiglett and Wugtrio, for example, share similarities with Diglett and Dugtrio, but are not part of the same line.

Pokemonfan SayuriKoopa shared their most-recent work in picture format, posting a gallery of several images, each showcasing a different regional or convergent Pokemon. Each image displays a beautiful new design, along with the typing that the Pokemon come with, or — in the case ofconvergent Pokemon— a new name. One image includes the regional forms of Meowstic in a parody ofPretty Cure, a Super Sentai-styled magical girl series.
Welcoming New Pokemon Regional And Convergent Forms
Included in the gallery is the Natu and Xatu line turning into a dark-flying type, changing their colors to a pale tan and red variation, and the Espurr and Meowstic line switching to fairy-fighting Pokemon with a softer blue, gray, and pink. Convergent forms of Phantump and Trevenant are creatively turned into Phantock and Golenant, the ghost-rock Pokemon, while the lovable Tandemaus and Maushold, welcomed inPokemon Scarlet and Violet, receive convergent Pokemon of their own in the ice variation of Tandelaus and Laushold.
Since the inclusion of regional and convergent Pokemon in later generations,Pokemonfans have continued to come up with brilliant ways to come up with their own. Other forms include the Paradox Pokemon that werefeatured inPokemon Scarlet and Violet, which saw past and future variations of existing Pokemon joining the present day. While not every Pokemon receives a variation of their existing form, it’s always fun to see what clever way fans of the franchise come up with to turn their favorite Pokemon into new forms and how onlookers react to each design.
