Reddit user BonesAndBlues recently shared fan art named afterPokemon’s Cerulean Cave. The Cerulean Cave is fittingly located in Cerulean City, the home of Misty’s gym. The art depictsPokemon Red and Blueprotagonist Redalongside a Raichu that’s charging an Electric-type attack. Mewtwo seems to emerge from the dark depths of the cave, and it doesn’t resemble the Pokemon that was added toSuper Smash Bros.Unlike the purple and pink Mewtwo, this one is just blue, and it has completely black eyes. The art highlights this Mewtwo as significantly less smooth than the original, and its bone structure can be seen through its blue skin.
The Legendary Pokemon retains its three fingers and a long tail, but due to the changes, it resembles an alien. This is further emphasized by its crawling position, as the standard Mewtwo normally walks on two feet or levitates using Psychic-type abilities. Just as Gen 1 fans would be anxious to catch Mewtwo in Cerulean Cave, Red is prepared for an encounter and is holding what appears to be the Master Ball.
