Most people think of pocket monsters when they hear “gotta catch ‘em all,” but a talented artist posted a portrait on Reddit that strives to capture all thePokemonanime’s best moments into one piece of art. Created by turnedninja, the giftedPokemonfan stated it took them two weeks to finish the coloring on the portrait, and it’s evident where all of that time went.
Ash Ketchum’s adventure began on television whenPokemon the Seriesstarted airing in Japan on July 24, 2025. As the video game series continued on, as did the anime, attempting to stay current with where the latest iterations of the video games would be located. In total, Ash adventured through seven different anime titles, includingPokemon the Series: Ruby and Sapphire, Pokemon the Series: Diamond and Pearl, Pokemon the Series: Black & White, Pokemon the Series: XY, Pokemon the Series: Sun & Moon,andPokemon Journeys: The Series.In total, there were 1,233 main series episodes of thePokemonanime. That’s not including the dozens of movies and spin-off series that were produced, northeDetective Pikachufeature film and it’s rumored sequel.

“A journey of 25 years” is what turnedninja captured in their video that showcased the piece. In it, there are various iconic moments from Ash Ketchum’s quarter-century adventure through thePokemonanime, an adventure that concluded with Ash and Pikachu’s departure from the show in the final episode ofPokemon Journeys: The Series. It’s yet to be determined whether fans will ever seeAsh and Pikachu turn up as cameos in future iterations of thePokemonanime.
Fans know a bit about where the newestPokemonseries goes. EntitledPokemon Horizons: The Series, it’s set in the Paldea region thePokemonScarlet and Violettitles call home. There’s even rumors suggestingthe fan-favoriteScarlet and Violetcharacter Nemona will make an appearancein the show. She won’t be the lead, however, as that honor belongs to the new duo of Liko and Roy. The dual-leads will be joined by the three Paldea region starters (Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly), as well as a group of supporting characters that includes a Pokemon known as Captain Pikachu.
WhilePokemon Horizons: The Seriesbegan airing in Japan last month, U.S. viewers still don’t know what the stateside status is of the newest version of the anime. Netflix has confirmed it will be the home ofthe upcoming stop-motion seriesPokemon Concierge. But where and whenPokemon Horizonswill be available for the U.S. is still completely unknown.
