While theCrown Tundra DLCis coming soon forPokemon SwordandShield, fans aren’t sure of what is next for the games due to the lack of announcements from Nintendo. That void of uncertainty is currently being filled with fan speculation, and now that Nintendo is finally trademarking Entei, many feel that this has something to do with the next batch of content after thePokemon DiamondandPearlremake releases in 2021.
Recently, fans have been theorizing about a third DLC forPokemon SwordandShieldthat may take place in theKalos region, and while that is still a popular theory, another theory is also surfacing based on this trademark. SomePokemonfans are excited about sequels toPokemon Let’s Go, and the new trademark is leading some to believe that Entei may be in the next title.
While Pikachu and Eevee may have been easier for devs to land on, Johto isn’t known for Pokemon as iconic as these. Rumors initially pegged Pichu and Marill as the new title Pokemon before moving ontoLugiaand Ho-oh, which made sense considering that they are some of the most well known Pokemon from Gen 2. However, Entei would also be a viable option, possibly partnered with Suicine or Raikou.
Nintendo has not publicly spoken about its recent trademark of Entei, and while this is just a theory at this point, many fans are hoping that this is the case. However, it is likely that fans won’t be seeing this game for a while since theleakedPokemon DiamondandPearlremakeswill likely be coming to the gaming community next year.
