The immensly popular mobile gamePokemon GOis continually evolving, no more so than in the past couple of years where the game had to go up against a global pandemic which kept many indoors. While developer Niantic managed to overcome the difficulties with people not getting out and walking around,Pokemon GOhas also continued to add new contentto entice players to continue logging in day after day.

New seasonal quests are constantly arriving, with the most recent focusing on thePokemon Sun and Moonregion of Alola. During this phase,Pokemon GOadded all sorts of new creatures into the game including the starter pokemon and even the island guardians Tapu Koko, Tapu Lele, Tapu Bulu, and Tapu Fini. The first of these specialPokemon GOevents is Adventure Week 2022which is currently active until June 12. While also offering several bonuses like double XP for spinning PokeStops and timed research quests, the game is also introducing the gen 6 pokemon, Tyrunt and Amaura. Here’s everythingPokemon GOplayers need to know about the Rock Dragon, Tyrunt.

How to Catch Tyrunt

During Adventure Week 2022, Tyrunt will be widely available, giving players their best chance to catch the Pokemon. It’s highly likely that thePokemon GOspawn rates will decrease significantly once Adventure Week comes to an end, so players should verify to grab one before June 12. Thankfully, there are a handful of ways to do this:

Ultimately, the most sure fire way to earn a Tyrunt would be during theUltra Unlock Research Day on June 12. Field Research and hatching eggs don’t guarantee a Tyrunt encounter as players could instead find an Amaura instead. While the “Spin 50 PokeStops or Gyms” challenge does offer a guaranteed Tyrunt encounter, the requirements will likely take many players a while to overcome, especially those located in more rural areas that don’t have a ton of PokeStops or Gyms available.

How to Evolve Tyrunt into Tyrantrum

With a Tyrunt captured, its now time to work towards its more powerful and evolved version called Tyrantrum. In this case, players will need to accumulate 50 Tyrunt candy to trigger the evolution. Players should use Pinap Berries to double the candy earned whenever attempting to catch Tyrunt, using any spare Rare Candies, or set Tyrunt as the Buddy Pokemon so it can accumulate additional Candy after a set amount of distance has been walked.

It’s also worth noting that the Tyrunt evolution can only be done during the day. Also, for those who are curious, Tyrunt and Tyrantrum do not haveshiny variants at this point inPokemon GO.
