Pokemon Scarlet and Violethave detailed all three storylines that players will be able to experience once the games launch for the Nintendo Switch on November 18. Nintendo recently released a newPokemon Scarlet and Violettrailer that revealed more information about the games, and it then updated the official website to include more detailed information. This update revealedPokemon Scarlet and Violet’s Auto Battles feature, as well as more details about the three storylines players will be able to pursue in the new games.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violetare open world games that let players go off in any direction they wish right from the start. As players explorePokemon Scarlet and Violet’s Paldea region, they have the opportunity to complete three distinct main storylines. The three storylines available toPokemon Scarlet and Violetplayers have been categorized as Victory Road, Path of Legends, and Starfall Street.

Victory Road is the traditionalPokemonstory about defeating eight gym leaders and becoming the Pokemon League Champion.Pokemon Scarlet and Violetgym leaderscan be fought in any order, though players first have to pass a test at each gym before they are allowed to confront the gym leaders themselves. Path of Legends, meanwhile, hasPokemon Scarlet and Violetplayers teaming up with a researcher named Arven to collect Herb Mystica, special items that are guarded by “titan” Pokemon, essentially larger, more dangerous versions of existing Pokemon.

And finally, Starfall Street is all about the conflict between thePokemon Scarlet and Violetplayers and the antagonist Team Star group.Team Star is the Team Rocket-equivalent forPokemon Scarlet and Violet, itself broken up into sub-groups that are spread out across the Paldea region.Pokemon Scarlet and Violetplayers have to infiltrate their bases and then defeat each Team Star boss to complete that particular storyline.

Besides these main storylines,Pokemon Scarlet and Violetplayers will have other goals to accomplish as well, like catching every Pokemon in the Paldea region, for instance. And better yet, players can tackle all these challenges with up to three friends. Not only arePokemon Scarlet and Violetthe first truly open worldPokemongames, but they are also the firstmain seriesPokemongames with proper co-op play. It remains to be seen how this will all work, but fans will find out soon enough.

Game Freak is taking some sizable risks with the establishedPokemonformula when it comes toPokemon Scarlet and Violet, and it will be interesting to see how fans react when the games launch later this year.
