On August 29, the officialPokemonTwitter account posted an image of a painted forest. GivenPokemon Scarlet and Violet’s connection to Spain, it wasn’t hard to deduce that this is an in-game location based on the painted Oma forest located in Basque Country between Spain and France. However,Pokemon Scarlet and Violetfans went wild as the post was also teasing aPokemon responsible for painting this forest, with several theories about a Paldean Smeargle being thrown out there.

However, it does not appear to be that. The official Pokemon Twitter account added even more information regarding this paint Pokemon on August 30, and it seems to be building up to a proper reveal. Perhaps it’ll end with astream like Galarian Ponyta, perhaps it’ll lead into anotherPokemon Scarlet and Violettrailer, or perhaps it’ll just lead to another Twitter post, but the recent post reveals more than yesterday’s and suggests more is coming.

ThePokemon Scarlet and Violetpost, as seen below, says that the photographer taking images of the region discovered that the Pokemon responsible is called Grafaiai. In the latest post, fans can see silhouettes of the new Pokemon, with the clearest being it running across the forest floor. It has a long tail that ends with a big tip, the other images suggest it has a Pikachu-shaped face, and it seems to have shorter hands and feet, at least in one of the images. The post adds that the photographer “left us with the promise to have an exciting revelation soon!” No doubt, this seems to be referring to a full reveal of Grafaiai, and at this cadence, it seems like something could come tomorrow, August 31 (although this is pure speculation based on a social media post being made on August 29 and 30).

Furthermore, fans have deduced that this is a lemur-based Pokemon, as “ai ai” or “aye aye” is a species of lemur. In other words, this newPokemon Scarlet and Violetcreature’s name is a fusion of graffiti and a species of lemur. For those keeping up withPokemon Scarlet and Violetleaks, this Pokemon has been previously teased, and so fans may already know a few other details about it.

POTENTIAL SPOILERS AHEAD! IF WANTING TO GO INTO THIS REVEAL OR POKEMON S/V FRESH, TURN BACK NOWAccording to recent leaks from sources like Khu and Kaka, Grafaiai is a two-stage lemur Pokemon. Khu has seemingly teased that this is a dual-type Pokemon, with Normal as its first typing and a “P” typing for its secondary. This would suggest it’s either Normal/Psychic or Normal/Poison, though the former seems likelier. Khu also suggests that Grafaiai gives off major Stitch vibes, the little blue alien inLilo and Stitch. Hopefully, the official Pokemon Twitter account confirms more soon, as this could very well prove to be a popularnew Gen 9 Pokemon, if this is legit.
