Pokemon Sleephas already generated over $100 million in revenue, according to some newly published third-party data. This unofficial estimate, which also comes with some additional insights, suggests thatPokemon Sleep’s first year has been a resounding success.

Developed by Japanese studio Select Button, the hit mobile game was originally announced in 2019, although it took another four years forPokemon Sleepto explain what it actually is. The sleep tracking game was eventually rolled out to Android and iOS devices over a four-day period ending June 19, 2025.

Nearly a year later, the game can hardly be described as anything but a massive success, having already surpassed $100 million in lifetime revenue. That’s according to some recently revealed data compiled by mobile market analytics company AppMagic and published byPocket Gamer. The newly shared insights suggest thatPokemon Sleepowes a lot of its success to Japan, with Select Button’s home country accounting for $73 million of its total revenue. Meanwhile, the U.S. and Taiwan contributed $15 million and $4 million, respectively.

Pokemon Sleep Global Downloads Estimated at Nearly 10 Million

AppMagic’s data does not include a revenue breakdown by type of microtransactions, making it impossible to gauge how thePokemon SleepPremium Passcompares to the game’s Diamond and item bundle purchases in terms of popularity. But what it does include is an estimate of the game’s global downloads, which are said to be in the ballpark of 9.8 million as of early July 2024. The geographical breakdown of its installed base closely mirrors that of its revenue, with Japan accounting for 44% of thePokemon Sleepplayer base, followed by the U.S. and Taiwan at 17% and 7%, respectively.

In terms of specific consumer behaviors, the game’s events have so far proven to be a huge hit with players, leading to its biggest revenue peaks to date. The latest such earnings spike coincided with thePokemon SleepEntei Research Event, which ran from May 20 through June 3. During its first week, in-game spending rose to $3.8 million, a 171% increase compared to the preceding seven days.Pokemon Sleep’s most lucrative promo to date was the Holiday 2023 event, which saw it earn $4 million over a seven-day period last December.

Aside from regular promotional activities,Select Button has also been consistently updatingPokemon Sleepwith new content, features, and quality-of-life improvements. And while this support commitment is bound to help the developer maintain its overall commercial momentum, AppMagic’s data does suggest thatPokemon Sleep’s installed base is currently nowhere near as diversified as that of some more successful mobile games likePokemon GO.
