Twitch streamer Pokimane announced that she’ll be doing a hot tub stream with the rest of the OfflineTV house for her birthday, but the tweet was likely a joke to some capacity considering thatPokimane previously criticized the trendherself.
The “hot tub meta” is Twitch’s current ongoing controversy. Back in 2019, streamers discovered a loophole in a new Twitch rule that allowed them to dress in swimwear such as bikinis when in the appropriate setting, like a hot tub. This led to current waves of streamers, including some who don’t normally produce suggestive content, using hot tub streams to accrue viewers, and many have seen large success because of it. Still, some big names have shared their opinions on the matter, such as xQc, who feels theuse of the hot tub loophole is “pathetic.”

But Pokimane, one of the biggest streamers on Twitch, revealed that OfflineTV will be doing a hot tub stream for her birthday in a recent tweet. Her birthday is soon, coming up on May 14, but viewers shouldn’t expect her and the otherOfflineTV members such as LilyPichuto dress up in revealing swimwear and produce sexually explicit content like the rest of the hot tub streams. Rather, Pokimane probably means this as a joke in some way; it’s possible there will be no hot tub stream and the tweet itself is a joke, but because she tweeted the announcement via her main Twitter account, viewers can likely expect something on May 14, but probably not what many are hoping to see.
