They can grind Domains, hunt down chests, play with friends, climb the Spiral Abyss, follow side/main quests, cook, mine, or just purely explore. It can be a lot at first, so here are some tips we’ve discovered 30+ Adventure Ranks into the game that we wish we knew way back at the start.

Updated on July 05, 2025 by Rhenn Taguiam:WithGenshin Impactv5.4 featuring banners headlined by Furina and Wriothesley, fans who heated up their experienced with the fiery arrival of Mavuika will certainly appreciate this change of pace. As the event comes with activities such as the Invasive Fish Wrangler, Reel Ad-Venture, and Ley Line Overflow,Genshin Impactmight want to brush up on their game knowledge and enjoy these offerings. However, fans looking for a more recent list of pro tips to play the game should look into ways of maximizing their available Wishes, focusing on upgrading their main team, and taking note of the game’s most ideal synergies.
10If Investing In Gacha, Invest In The Welkin
The Blessing Of The Welkin Moon Can Help The Active Player
Given thatGenshin Impactis a gacha game, it’s no surprise that the game will always find ways to incentivize players who prefer paying their way into Primogems - which in turn gives them access to more Wishes. However, for players who want to stay frugal, if they ever consider investing inGenshin Impact, they should probably just spend their extra USD 4.99 for the Blessing of the Welkin Moon.
For starters, they immediately get 300 Genesis Crystals and get 90 Primogems whenever they log in for the first time across the next 30 days. Players who plan on investing their time playingGenshin Impact- which means doing the Daily Commissions that earn them 60 Primogems - should get them as many as 150 Primogems everyday or 4,500 Primogems in a month. Players gunning for a character or want to invest in an upcoming character should start earning their Primogems with a Welkin on hand. That way, they maximize their time spent grinding for Primos.

9Prepare Favorite Comps For The World Level Jump
Don’t Hold Off The Inevitable, Plan For It Instead
When players explore Teyvat in theirGenshin Impactadventures, they might notice that advancing even one World Level can be too overwhelming for their team - especially if they’re not strong enough to contend with enemies. While a natural thing to do here is to just step back a World Level and leisurely earn Adventure Ranks, they will sometimes experience being booted up a World Level against their will. If they spent their Adventure Rank grind with an underleveled comp, then they’ll end up being yeeted to oblivion.
The remedy here is totake note of World Levelswhere difficulty spikes alongside rewards - usually World Levels 3 to 4, or 5 to 6. Since they have Ascension Quests that players need to accomplish, they can use this leeway to power-level their team. to properly prepare for the World Level advancement, players are advised to pre-farm all the Materials they need for characters to level up, level up their Talents, and Ascend. Likewise, if possible, players should look for the best builds of their current comps and identify their recommended Artifacts - of which players should also try to hunt them down and pre-farm their Materials. This way, players can face enemies with their characters at their best-possible builds.

8*Save Up Resin For AR 45
The Real Grind For Builds Begins At AR 45
In speaking of building characters inGenshin Impact, players who have created new accounts shouldn’t worry about their level progression until they reach Adventure Rank 45. Moreover, they shouldn’ttouch their Resins(Original or the reward-boosting Condensed variant) for hardcore Domains, Bosses, and Ley Lines until the said Adventure Rank.
This is because it’s only at Adventure Rank 45 that Level 90 Artifact Domains get unlocked, which then guarantee a 5-Star Artifact on completion. Not only that, the next Talent Book tier drops at AR 45, making it much easier and much faster to grind for books that level up not just mains but also support characters and even new characters. The latter is important, as it can get quite resource-intensive to Ascend characters given not just their Mora cost but also the overall grind to get their necessary resources.

7Mind The Gacha Pity Factors
Certain Banners Are Better Left Untouched
Being a gacha title, it’s important forGenshin Impactplayers to remember that there’s a lot to consider when pulling for a character across the game’s different banners. Players should approach Wishes with these in mind:
6Dendro Shines Against Strong Abyss Shields
Cryo Works, Too, But Dendro Makes For Easy Kills
Players pursuing the Abyss inGenshin Impactknow Hydro-toting Abyss Mages and Abyss Heralds are extremely time-consuming to kill due to their tough bubble shields. However, Dendro is the best Element to bring in a comp specifically for their destructive potential - simply pair a Dendro and a Pyro to trigger Burning consistently and burn through their shields in no time.
Dendro Supremacy inGenshin Impactmay also be due to the fact that many of the game’s more underrated units are Dendro. Collei is an easy pick due to her accessibility, while Tighnari is a Standard Banner unit with a nifty search function, and Nahida is among the game’s best DPS regardless if she’s primary or not. Having at least one of them fully-kitted for an Abyss team should give players additional firepower against these annoying critters.

5When In Doubt, Bring Hydro
Diverse Elemental Reactions Guarantee A Tool For Every Encounter
Players in love with theirGenshin Impactgameplay know switcheroos between units are essential to keep combat momentum while also ensuring their rotations are well-recharged. However, players worrying about consistent reactions and producing subpar damage can easily bypass these woes with one factor: bring a Hydro character with them. Their presence will almost always add a dynamic twist to the battlefield courtesy of their compatibility with quite a lot of other Elements - making their attacks more potent due toconsistent Reactions(Vaporize with Pyro, Hyperbloom and Burgeon with Dendro, Freeze with Cryo, Electro-Charged with Electro).
Not to mention, a lot of Hydro characters are known for their versatility. For instance, Neuvillette, Ayato and Childe are both some of the most powerful DPS in the game, while Barbara and Kokomi are ever-reliable healers. Furina and Nilou offer quite the balance between heals and attacks, while Yelan can break the game at Constellation 6 with her multi-faceted abilities.

4Invest In The Favonius Set
Gamble In Odds That Can Be Controlled, Like A 4-Star Set
While fans want their 5-Star characters to hold some of the most awesome-looking 5-Star Weapons built specifically for their character, players who want to hyper-optimize their kits can’t go wrong with theFavonius Set. That’s right - despite the Favonius Set being 4-Star Weapons, their overall perks can benefit almost any character.
At its core, all Favonius Weaponsboast Energy Recharge as their main attribute, ensuring its wielders can access their skills much faster. However, where the weapons shine is their Windfall Passive - where CRITs have a 60-100% Chance to generate Elemental Particles once every 12-6s, which in turn give them 6 Energy. What makes this weapon set a must-have are the ways Windfall can be activated, as it can be triggered per damaging hit and per enemy hit - making AOEs and multi-hits capable of proccing the bonus. Co-Op also grants the Elemental Particles for all team members.

3Stress Not On The CRIT Ratios
At The End Of The Day, High ATK Matters
Hardcore fans probably already know that the best way to build a DPS unit inGenshin Impactgameplay would be boosting their CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG as high as possible, with the 1:2 Ratio positing that CRIT DMG twice the value of a Crit Rate (so for example, 50% Rate for 100% DMG) is the ideal build for DPS units. However, players shouldn’t stress themselves too much on this ratio, as at the end of the day any ratio between 1:1 and 1:4 will give close to ~90% damage of that damage anyway.
Instead, players should focus on “general” guidelines for boosting CRIT and overall ATK. On top of trying to gun for weapons that boost CRIT, players should find a Circlet Artifact that as a CRIT stat and find Artifacts with the opposing CRIT sub-stat as a supplement (so CRIT Rate Circlet and CRIT DMG Artifacts and vice versa). Characters such as Rosaria and Hu Tao can also boots the Crit Rate of party members with their Talents.

2Build With The Strongbox, Not Just Domains
That 4-Stat Probability Becomes More Important Later On
When players begin building their ideal comps and favorite units, they will like want to grind through Domains because oftheir Artifact rewards. After all, there’s a 20% chance that a Domain will grant players their much-needed 4-stat Artifact and get their DPS that much-needed CRIT Rate item! However, players might want to consider going for Artifact Strongboxes in pursuit of their most ideal equipment.
As players can remember, Adventure Rank 45 players can access Mystic Offerings at the Crafting Bench, of which they can sacrifice three 5-Star Artifacts to get one Artifact Strongbox. This Strongbox will contain a Random Artifact from a chosen set. Interestingly enough, Artifact Strongboxes have a 33% chance of yielding a 4-stat Artifact, making it an ideal “second option” for players who have quite a lot of spare 5-Star Artifacts but no unit to use them.

1Understand The Best Elemental Synergies
Take Switching Between Elements And Characters To The Next Level
Players are probably already familiar with how certainGenshin Impactcharacters work well off each other based on their Elements, which is whyElemental Synergies become a priority when setting up a party. However, players who want to take this to the next level need to take a step back and analyze not just the relationships of their characters’ Elements per se, but how their moveset also affect the playing field - specifically Elemental Mastery.
For instance, Raiden is not just among the best DPS in the game right now, but she especially excels when in a hypercarry team with Bennett and Kazuha. This isn’t just because Bennett can boost Raiden’s damage with his kit, but rather allow the likes of Kazuha to take advantage of Bennett’s Pyro self-infusion to add fire to his Ultimate which, if hitting an Electro-affected target courtesy of Raiden, can help Kazuha’s hits reach 9-11k damage.
