Far Cry 5
Last month, Ubisoft officially revealed the next big entry in its popular open-world first-person shooter series,Far Cry. Known for its iconic tropical Caribbean island settings and manic villains,Far Cry 6takes players to the fictional island of Yara, which is inspired by Cuba, and aims to deliver “the largest Far Cry playground to date.” What’s even more exciting is that the game’s villain will be played byThe MandalorianandBreaking Badstar Giancarlo Esposito and is potentiallyteasing the rise ofFar Cry 3’s Vaas, although that remains speculation for now. However,Far Cry 6won’t be released until February next year so now would be a great time for players to revisit the previous mainline entry, 2018’sFar Cry 5.
Taking a break from tropical island settings,Far Cry 5takes place in the United States of America and follows a deputy sheriff that must work alongside resistance groups to take down Eden’s Gate, a doomsday cult led by Joseph Seed that has taken over the fictional region of Hope County. The game also received three fairly sizable DLC episode called Hours of Darkness, Lost on Mars, and Dead Living Zombies, taking players to the Vietnam War, to Mars, and to the set of a movie where players will take on hordes of zombies. There’s more than enough content inFar Cry 5to keep players occupied before the holiday season officially begins.
