It will be interesting to see how feedback from the beta shapes the 1.0 release ofConcordwhen it launches on August 23. As it stands, the game has proven to be divisive. Fans of the hero shooter genre seem excited to check it out, while those who feel the market is becoming over-saturated are unhappy that Sony has invested first-party resources into the game.
There has definitely been an increase in hero shooters as of late. Besides the ongoingOverwatch 2,Valorantis finally making its way to consoles,Marvel Rivalsis in the testing phases, andFragPunkis coming in 2025. Needless to say,Concordhas a lot of competition to deal with, but maybe it will do enough to stand out from the pack and attract an audience all its own.
