OnePS5adopter began customizing their console the second it arrived, with the result being a gorgeous version of the system themed around the iconic armor worn by Commander Shepard inMass Effect.
The showcase of Reddit user Thirteenera’s specialMass Effectconsole comes at a perfect time, as theMass Effect: Legendary Editionwas recently announced by Bioware and EA. WithaMass Effectsequelon the way as well, it is easy to understand why Thirteenera was in the mood for a themed design based on the RPG franchise. With how good the custom PS5 turned out, however, it is sure to make anyMass Effectfan jealous.

Sporting a black and red design that resembles the N7armor of Commander Shepard, the system looks as good as an official, limited edition console design would. The white N7 logo looks great against the black background of the rest of the console, with the iconic red strip of theMass Effectarmor looking perfect on the PS5. The slick, dark version of the system would even look great on the Normandy, let alone a normal living room.
It is genuinely amazing to see allthe custom PS5 consolesthat players have come up with, and the designs are likely to keep coming for the foreseeable future. While Sony may eventually release official faceplates that gamers can purchase, for now, players are forced to rely on their own creativity when it comes to custom designs. Though it took a full day of mask-taping and airbrushing for Thirteenera to complete their N7 console, the final product was clearly worth all the work that went into it.
With over 72,000 upvotes on the post, it is safe to say that gamers approve of Thirteenera’sMass Effectconsole. Many of the comments make effective use of Mass Effect memes and funny dialogue. Beyond the jokes, however, a few Redditors were curious as to when the player’s controller would get a matching look. Though Thirteenera commented saying it would be harder to pull off, players have shown thatcustom-made PS5 controllersare just as possible as designs for the console.
Regardless of whether Thirteenera’s DualSense controller gets a paint job, the Reddit user joins a very select club ofcustom PlayStation 5 owners. While Twitter user oskunk’s custom PlayStation 5 design may show off some great PlayStation exclusives, forMass Effectfans, it is hard to beat this design.
