Under, a brand-new horror title set on a sinking ship that seems to borrow heavily from 2013’sP.T.,  has just received a brand new trailer.

The new game from Globiss Interactive places players in the shoes of World War 1 veteran Alexander Dockter, who must escape a seven-decker ocean liner that is sinking. The player starts at the lower levels of the ship, and must slowly travel up the ship, in order to avoid being entrapped. Along the way, the player must avoid and escape from various entities and obstacles standing between them and their escape.

With hyper-realistic graphics and an eerie atmosphere,Underlooks to be borrowing heavily fromP.T., the playable teaser for the canceledSilent Hills.

Since Konami’s cancellation ofSilent Hills, several developers have made titles inspired by the demo.Layers of Fear, Visage, and even the incredibly popularResident Evil 7all take huge inspiration from the playable teaser, with more and more games continuing to get announced. Though the cancellation ofP.T.was a true shame, it’s nice to see so many new titles take inspiration from it. Some fans have even gone as far as to recreate the demo, withone fan remaking it from the ground up for PC, with full VR support.

Underis set to arrive for PC on October 25, with plans to port the title to the Nintendo Switch. The developers have stated that there is no planned release date for the Switch version yet, but they wish to launch it on the hybrid console as close to its initial release date as possible. Interestingly enough, the developers have not commented on whether the title will be arriving on any other consoles aside from the Nintendo Switch, which is a bit irregular for games in the survival horror genre.

Since its release, the Switch has accumulated a large number of survival horror games, with titles such asAmnesia: The Collection, theOutlastseries,Little Nightmares, Remothered: Tormented Souls, and much more coming to Nintendo’s newest console. Nintendo consoles have never been known for their horror games, so it’s interesting to see the company’s current-gen console receive so many, with Under appearing to be a timed-exclusive. Though there is no release date for the Switch port, the game is supposedly coming very soon after the PC version’s October release.
