Cyberpunk: Edgerunnersis a prequel to the events ofCyberpunk 2077or maybe even something unrelated altogether. It has nothing to do with its story although characters from the game do make brief cameos if viewers are paying attention. The main crux of the narrative follows a young teenager named David who witnesses his mom getting killed in a car accident.

Fed up about being ridiculed for his upbringing, David takes things into his own hands and joinsa mercenary gang. Can he make enough money, or Eddies, to scrape his way out of poverty inCyberpunk: Edgerunners? What about the ending? Are there things left unanswered that could be addressed in a second season? There will be spoilers.
6What Happened To Katsuo?
Katsuo Tanaka is the bully that picks a fight with David in the first episode. That episode ends with David asking the Ripperdoc to put the cybernetic implant into his body, with episode two showcasing his revenge on Katsuo. After pummeling him to a bloody pulp, David gets expelled from the academy.
Katsuo is brought up again in reference, by his father, but he is never shown again. It seems like the anime should have put a bookend on this little arc. They could have shown Katsuo confront David later when he was a more bulky man. It’s not a huge question left unanswered but there could have been more.
5How Long Was The Time Jump?
The transition between episodes six and seven is an abrupt one. David goes froma scrawny cyborgto a beefy boy seemingly overnight. Viewers have to fill in the gaps of this time jump based on what transpires next.

Not only is David huge, but he and Lucy got a bigger apartment together. Plus David took over the role of the mercenary group’s leader. This time jump could have been a week or it could have been longer. There is no way to know for sure.
4What Was Wrong With The Moon?
The first time David and Lucy meet, Lucy brings David back to her apartment. He makes a comment about the poster of the moon on her wall. He realizes that the moon is seemingly nothing more than a lofty goal of humanity that resulted in the deaths of thousands. He also equates it to a prison and not a trip to paradise.
At the end ofCyberpunk: Edgerunners, Lucy goes to the moon and it seems like a tourist trap. There is no giant city to behold that could be equated to a metaphorical prison similarto Night City. What was David talking about them? This could be a reference to something in the greaterCyberpunklore, but if it is, anime viewers are at a loss about this history.
3What Happened To Falco?
There are only two surviving members of the mercenary group at the end ofCyberpunk: Edgerunnersaka Lucy and Falco. Lucy goes to the moon, as was already mentioned, but Falco is nowhere to be seen. He did not travel to the moon with Lucy or at least his character is never shown directly.
That doesn’t mean he didn’t retreat to the moon. After all, the heat on the two of them must be massive seeing as how they took on agiant corporation like Arasaka. That brings up another question though. How did they even escape that mess?
2What’s Next For Lucy?
Lucy was able to fulfill her dream of seeing the moon up close and personal thanks to David’s sacrifice. She probably would have preferred to see the moon with David, making it a bittersweet victory. The big question then is what will Lucy do next?

Will she stay on the moon and avoid Arasaka detection? Is Arasaka present on the moon already, making it impossible to stay undetected for long? It’s hard to know especially since a second season hasn’t been announced yet. If it does happen and it is a continuation of this, chances are she will be the new protagonist of thisslick action anime.
1Was David Special?
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, at its core, could be taken as a cautionary tale that can be applied to life. James Norris was the first character to put in the military implant, seemingly thinking of himself as a god that could take on even themighty Arasaka corporation. He gets gunned down in the process thus leaving his implant open for the next “hero” to give it a shot. Maine doesn’t use this implant but he still chromes up too much. He won’t listen to the reasonings of his friends and doesn’t slow down on his upgrades.
This leads him to succumb to CyberPsychosis too. Even though David sees this happen, twice, he doesn’t listen to reason either. He thinks he is special, like some sort of chosen one. Even though his limits surpass other characters, he dies at the end too. He flew too close to the sun. The question then is, was David special on some level? What allowed him to push his limits so much besides David being the intrepid main character ofan action anime? There are some theories out there, but maybe a second season will provide some answers officially.
