Back in 2018,Red Dead Redemption 2was released to near-universal critical acclaim and sold very well for the publisher. The following year, its online mode,Red Dead Redemption Onlineofficially launched. While it never managed to achieve the same levels of popularity as Rockstar’sGrand Theft Auto Online,it has nonetheless developed a dedicated fan base that has remained loyal to the game to this day.
Despite having launched three years ago, players are still sharing their goofy antics in the game. One of the more recent videos showsRed Dead Redemption Onlineplayers engaging in a dangerous leap of trust exerciseinvolving players jumping off a bridge. Modders still add their own updates to the game, which includes a new single-player experience. Now, other gamers are clamoring for something a bit more over the top in the online mode.

Despite Rockstar confirming that development onRed Dead Redemption Onlinewas winding down, gamers are still clamoring for more content. In a recent post, Reddit user butternutsquash4u commented in theRed Dead Redemptiongroup that Rockstar should include gatling gun horses in the game. Below the comment was a GIF of a horse with gatling guns on both of its sides from the 2010 filmJonah Hexfilm. Dozens of comments on the post agreed with the original poster.
As mentioned above,Red Dead Redemption Onlinenever quite took off the wayGrand Theft Auto Onlinedid. Whereas the number of updates and pieces of DLC forGTA Onlineis too numerous to count, the number ofmajor content updates forRed Dead Redemption Onlineclocks in at around eight. Additional content and updates for the game were sadly scaled back as Rockstar began pumping more resources intoGrand Theft Auto 6.
When Rockstar officially confirmed this to be the case,Red Dead Onlinefans mourned for the online mode and shared their disappointment with the news. Earlier this month,RedDeadFuneral began to trendas players prepared forRed Dead Online’s inevitable end. Even more upsetting for some fans was the fact that the developers announced yet anotherGTA Onlineupdate less than two weeks after the announcement. Many fans, however, still wantRed Dead Onlineto continue and, as posts like this show, the audience for it is there. Perhaps one day the studio will listen and give fans a horse with gatling guns.
