Red Dead Redemption 2is a massive game, with players still finding secrets and clever details within its open world. With that size also comes a few bugs here and there, though, with one such bug seeing aRed Dead Redemption 2player’s horse learn to teleport.

While a recentdetail found shows just how much Dutch caresabout Arthur, theRed Dead Redemption 2protagonist’s horse seems to have equally strong feelings for its owner. Posted in the RDR2 subreddit by user Kahlinnnnnnnnn, a clip shows the horse mysteriously appearing at the bottom of the ladder after Arthur looks to explore the bottom of a bridge. When he turns, the horse is blocking the way up the ladder.

As the player posting the clip confirms, there is no way off the bridge other than death. Rather than just jumping off the bridge on their own, though, Kahlinnnnnnnnn brings the glitchy horse with them as the two “met a very tragic ending with a stick of dynamite.” Knowing that the clever horse met its demise in such a way is a shame, considering that someRed Deadplayers go to extreme lengthsto protect their companion.

This horse could clearly take care of itself, though with the way it sticks to Arthur’s side, it likely could cause problems. Other players have recently encountered buggy horses inRed Dead Redemption 2’s campaign, withone horse even ruining Arthur’s attempted hostage rescue. Still, inconsistent or not, horses are a necessary evil when traversing the huge map ofRed Dead Redemption 2. Sadly (or thankfully, depending on the player), not many horses have been caught climbing ladders in the game.

Why exactly the glitch occurred is unclear, but it is certainly interesting to think about a horse trying to climb down a ladder. Perhaps there is some secret trigger for the horse teleportation, considering that a player founda newRed Dead Redemption 2cutscenealmost two years after the game’s official release. That is unlikely, though, as this super-powered horse will surely remain a one in a million occurrence. If another teleporting horse is found one day, hopefully it does not block the way up ladders like the one in Kahlinnnnnnnnn’s game did.

If players get frustrated by their buggy horses, they could always hop onRed Dead Onlineto search for theRed Deadplayer masquerading as a clown. It is not nearly as scary as it may sound initially, as the interesting character plays the violin for hours on end and showcases just how unique the expansive world ofRed Deadcan be.

Red Dead Redemption 2is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
