Although Capcom hasn’t made any official announcements, there have been multiple rumors throughout the year suggesting that a remake ofResident Evil 4is being worked on. Recently, a new piece of evidence was provided that potentially hints thatthe rumors may end up being true, and that the game is currently being worked on.

On Twitter, Nick Apostolides -  voice actor for Leon Kennedy in the remake ofResident Evil 2- posted a photo of himself in motion capture gear along with a message about how good it feels to get back to work. Additionally, Apostolides wrote that he had a “blast with some crazy people” onthe project he was working on, and how he can’t wait to share more details about it.

One interesting thing to note is that one of the hashtags has “video games” in it, implying that the project revolves around an actual video game rather than a movie. Some feel this suggests that it could possibly beResident Evil 4Remake,but no other details were shared so the project could end up being anything.

If the voice actor is implying what fans think he is implying, the evidence strongly fits with more about a remake ofResident Evil 4. For example, in April reports surfaced suggesting that Capcom has started to work on the game, withResident Evil 4remake potentially releasing in 2022. Furthermore, the reports are backed up by three previousResident Evilgames that have received remakes:Resident Evil,Resident Evil 2, andResident Evil 3.

Another note that is worth pointing out is that back in June, Shinji Mikami, director of the originalResident Evil 4,mentioned the rumors during an IGN interview. When asked about the rumors, Mikami said, “As long as it turns out good I have no issues with it.” Despite showing his support at the time, Mikami’s comments didn’t necessarily imply anything, and they neither confirmed nor denied the rumors.

Ultimately, Apostolides' tweet may end up talking about a whole different game that has nothing to do withResident Evil 4, such as the upcomingResident Evil 8or an entirely different game series in general. However, if the implication that it is indeedResident Evil 4Remaketurns out to be true, not only will the rumors be confirmed, the game’sfans will get what they’ve been hoping forfor a really long time.

A remake ofResident Evil 4is rumored to be in development.
