Marvel’s Avengersis currently getting plenty of attention thanks to its beta which recently launched. The game works hard to make players feel like they are in the shoes ofone of the Avengers, and part of that is thanks toMarvel’s Avengers’epic soundtrack.
The score forMarvel’s Avengershas been composed by Bobby Tahouri, who is known for scoring other video game soundtracks includingRise of the Tomb RaiderandTransformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Tahouri also has extensive experience scoring for films and has worked onHitman, Clash of the Titansand even the firstIron Manmovie. It’s no surprise then, that Tahouri was well prepared when Crystal Dynamics approached him for the music onMarvel’s Avengers.

Tahouri explained in an interview that one of the highlights was creating different themes foreach of the Avengers. “What made composing for ‘Marvel’s Avengers’ so special is that I got to write music for so many unique superheroes, all in one game. After coming up with one Avengers theme, I designed a palette of sounds and instruments specific to each superhero.” Tahouri commented that his favorite to compose was Iron Man for which he used guitar and bass tones to match the character’s confidence.
Audio designer at Crystal Dynamics forMarvel’s Avengers, Jack Grillo, spoke highly of Tahouni’s work, “Bobby’s themes are unique and inspiring. I’ve been working with some of these pieces regularly for the past five years and I still got the chills when I heard the final masters for this soundtrack.”
Marvel’s Avengershas a number of playable characters at launch including Iron Man, Thor, Black Widow, Hulk, Captain America and Ms. Marvel, all of whom will have their own unique musical theme. This will add to the atmosphere of playing as each character and really help players feel immersed in the hero’s perspective. There are more playable characters expected to be added after launch such asHawkeye and Spider-Man, who are likely to get their own themes from Tahouni as well.
Marvel’s Avengersreleases for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One on September 4.
