Unfortunately for PlayStation fans, the PS5 event came and went with no sign ofGod of War, but a new rumor suggests that the wait to see Kratos’s next adventure will be shorter than some may have expected.
According to YouTube Channel Moore’s Law is Dead, Sony decided to hold off on revealingGod of Warfor PS5until after Microsoft’s Xbox Games Showcase. Citing an unnamed source, Moore’s Law is Dead believes that Sony will be revealing the newGod of WarPS5 game at some point in August, with it set to have photo-realistic graphics. Apparently, theGod of WarPS5 release date is slated for fall 2021, so it would be Sony’s big holiday game for next year.

As for whatGod of Waron PS5 will entail, that remains to be seen. It’s possible thatGod of Waron PS5 will feature Thor as the main villain, or it may have players confront other Nordic Gods instead. Hopefully rumors about a PS5 games showcase event in August turn out to be true soGod of Warfans can learn more about the new game soon.
This isn’t the first time we’ve heard of Sony having a PS5 event in August. Previously, rumors have indicated thatSony plans on hosting a State of Play-style eventto showcase PS5 games on August 6, though Sony itself has yet to confirm or deny any such plans.
Besides theGod of WarPS5 game, another big game rumored for the Sony event is none other than theSilent HillPS5 exclusive game. First leaked months ago, theSilent HillPS5 exclusive was expected to be at the PS5 games showcase event, only for it to come and go with no mention of the title. However, the game has been leaked by reputable industry insiders and is supposedly far along in development, so the reveal is expected to take place sooner rather than later.
If fans are lucky, Sony may even use the August event to reveal thePS5 price and release date, but fans should keep their expectations in check. It’s possible that Sony doesn’t plan on having a PS5 event in August at all, let alone one that is going to have such a big announcement asGod of Waron PS5.
