Stu Macher (Matthew Lillard) will always be considered one of the greatest characters in the popularScream

franchise. He makes the silly and ultimately life-ending mistake of trusting his best friend Billy Loomis (Skeet Ulrich) and their killing spree is one of the most brutal since it was the first time that horror audiences were introduced to Ghostface. WhileScream (2022)is impressive and there is excitement forScream 6, it’s hard to deny the impact that Stu had in the original 1996 movie, as he is funny and impossible to stop watching.

There are many excellent new characters inScream (2022), including the memorable Tara Carpenter (Jenna Ortega) and the Ghostface killers Amber Freeman (Mikey Madison) and Richie Kirsch (Jack Quaid). While Stu is long gone by the events ofScream (2022), his nephew is a minor character in the fifth movie in the franchise, and he has an interesting storyline.

Vince Schneider Is Stu Macher’s Nephew

Vince Schneider (Kyle Gallner) is Stu Macher’s nephew and appears at the beginning ofScream (2022). While he’s an important character since he is the connection between this new film and the original, it’s hard to say that he’s memorable. He’s the son of Stu’s brother Leslie Macher and dated Liv McKenzie (Sonia Ammar) before the events of the movie. Gallner played Joel, the detective who helps Dr. Rose Cotter (Sosie Bacon), in theterrifying 2022 horror movieSmile, which was a meatier and more likable role, as in contrast to Vince, Joel is polite, friendly, curious, and intelligent.

As is the case with everyScreammovie, everyone is a suspect, which is one of the ways thatScream’s first three entries talk about the rules of horror movies. Liv and her friends wonder if Vince is Ghostface and he becomes the first suspect in the story. As he’s rebellious and mysterious like Billy inScream, it makes sense that they would think this about him. He doesn’t seem kind or like he has any redeeming qualities, either, which suggests that he could be the killer.

Stu Macher’s house in Scream

Vince isn’t the only relative inScream (2022), as Mindy (Jasmin Savoy Brown) and Chad Meeks-Martin (Mason Gooding) are the niece and nephew of popular character Randy Meeks (Jamie Kennedy), who sadly dies inScream 2. In contrast to Vince, Mindy and Chad are much more memorable and much more interesting characters, as they are determined to figure out who Ghostface is.

Vince’s Death Is The First Sign Of Danger

Vince’s death scene happens near the start ofScream (2022)and suggests that he and the other residents of Woodsboro, California are in danger and that the cycle of killing is beginning all over again. Vince goes to a bar where the other characters are because he still loves Liv, and he has an altercation with Chad, who is in a relationship with Liv now. When he goes back to where his car is parked, he is brutally killed by Ghostface, who puts a screwdriver into his neck.

This is one of thebest kills inScream (2022),although it’s still easy to forget about Vince at all given how much else happens in the rest of the movie. Judy Hicks’s (Marley Shelton) son Wes’s (Dylan Minnette) death scene is much more thrilling and terrifying, as he is home alone plating a take-out dinner when Ghostface appears. Still, Vince’s demise is a reminder that anyone can die now that there is a new Ghostface in town (or two Ghostfaces, as it turns out).

Stu’s House Is Brilliantly Used In The Scream (2022) Party Scene

Stu Macher’s house is used in the party scene at the end ofScream (2022).Amber moves into the home which is located at 261 Turner Lane and when she and Richie are shared to be the killers, she explains that she has become fascinated by Stu and Billy’s legacy and that she was excited to be living here. This is one of the mosticonic horror movie housesand it’s clever to use it here, as it proves the movie’s theme of toxic fandom. Instead of focusing on their own lives, Amber and Richie are weirdly focused on theStabmovies and what really happened to Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell), with dangerous results.

If Vince had lived and become a more major character inScream (2022), it would have been logical for him to live in his uncle’s old home, and this could have been another thread that tied the two characters together. It still works to have this big scene take place at this location, as Amber is lit on fire in the kitchen and then, in a shocking and satisfying moment of strength, Tara shoots and kills her. However, it would have been interesting to see Vince interact with the other characters in this famous house.
