Spawns

During the three-hour event,Pokemon GOplayers have a higher chance of encountering the following Pokemon. If there’s an asterisk by its name, that means there’s a chance for it to be Shiny:

Event Bonus

The Searching for Gold event bonus will turn some PokeStops gold without the need forGolden Lure Modules.

It’s worth noting that Roaming Form Gimmighoul will not appear at these special PokeStops, but players can still spin the PokeStop pictureto potentially earn Gimmighoul Coins.

Field Research Tasks

The Field Research Tasks can be found by spinning PokeStops during the event, which players can complete to earn encounters with the following Pokemon.

The asterisk means it can be Shiny. Once the task is complete, players can choose the encounter they want.

Timed Research Tasks

As for the Timed Research Tasks, players must head to the in-gamePokemon GOshop and purchase a ticket for $1 to unlock them. It’s worth noting that once the money is spent, players must complete the tasks and claim the rewards before the event ends, or else the money will go to waste. Fans should be able to hop into the store and get their tickets ahead of time starting on May 31 at 5 PM PT.

For Step 2 of the Timed Research, there are five branching paths to choose from. Players can pickCaterpie,Magikarp,Sableye,Nosepass, orBarboach, and depending on the choice, the reward for each task (and the total reward) will be an encounter with that chosen Pokemon. The tasks are all the same, though.

Pokemon GOis available for mobile devices.
