To an outside observer, finding a mate inThe Elder Scrolls V: Skyrimmay seem difficult. People’s lives can be incredibly short when one takes vampires, bandits, a raging civil war, and the return of the Dragons into consideration. And that’s not even the shortlist of things that can kill the Dragonborn inSkyrim.

Balimund Working The Forge From The Elder Scrolls 5 Skyrim

The Dragonborn needs to find love where he/she can. For warriors, there are actually quite a few suitable bachelors who are willing to settle down. It may take a favor or two, but these men undoubtedly make great husbands and companions for the aspiring warrior.

6Balimund, The Riften Blacksmith

Warriorsknow a good sword when they see one. In the land of Skyrim, few know their craft better than Balimund. He’s an Expert-level Smithing trainer in the city of Riften, second only to Eorlund Gray-Mane in the base game. Warriors love cold steel and Balimund has that in droves.

A favor needs to be done for Balimund to make him eligible for marriage. Ten Fire Salt samples need to be delivered to him in order to raise his disposition. He needs the materials for his forge so that he can keep it hot. If the player wants to marry him, the man is going to need those Fire Salts.

Athis From The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim

5Athis, The Dark Elven Companion

The first time players lay eyes on Athis, he’s getting his rear-end handed to him by Njada Stonearm. But don’t let that disqualify him from contention regarding matrimony. Athis is quite a loyal and dedicated Companion. He wholeheartedly believes in the honorable warrior code that the Companions advocate.

The Dragonborn needs to be patient when it comes to marrying Athis. The entire Companion questline needs to be finished before he becomes eligible for marriage. In addition, Athis alsoserves as a follower. That’s not all, though. Athis is also an Expert-level trainer for the One-Handed skill. Talk about the whole package!

4Onmund, The College Apprentice

Nords inThe Elder Scrollsuniverse tend to avoid relying on magic a great deal. They put their faith in more traditional weapons, which they typically excel with. Onmund is a somewhat rare exception. As a Nordapprentice at the College of Winterhold, he seeks to master Destruction and Illusion magic.

As a pure warrior, having a magic-user at the Dragonborn’s side can come in handy. Having someone run interference while the player unloads on a tough enemy is rather useful. To make him eligible for marriage the player needs to complete “Onmund’s Request” after joining the College. It involves retrieving Onmund’s amulet from Enthir, a shifty purveyor of illicit merchandise.

3Ghorbash, The Iron Hand

Orcs, by their nature, are very prideful. They’re also a potent force to be reckoned with on the battlefield. Nevertheless, he still pines for more exciting adventures.

Ghorbash The Iron Hand From The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim

Ghorbash requires some convincing before he is willing to follow or marry the Dragonborn. He’s hesitant of abandoning the stronghold, but passing a Speech check will bring him around. Initiating a brawl is also a valid option, which shouldn’t be too difficult for a pure warrior. Ghorbash is no slouch in combat, behaving much like a housecarl.

2Benor, The Best Warrior In Morthal

A resident of Morthal, Benor is a young warrior with a lot to prove. Benor is the self-professedbest warrior in Morthal. His neighbors also think quite highly of his martial abilities, but itisa small town after all. The player, of course, is able to put his boasts to the test.

Challenging him to a brawl is required to unlock Benor as a marriage candidate. When Benor is inevitably beaten by the Dragonborn the former doesn’t hold a grudge. He’s actually quite impressed by the Dragonborn’s mettle. Having a tough and confident fighter as the player’s mate isn’t the worst thing in the world.

1Vilkas, A Member Of The Circle

Vilkas is a member of the Circle, the inner council of the Companions. Unlike his brother Farkas, Vilkas is the more thoughtful of the two. He’s willing to share his insights into what it means to be a member of the Companionsas well as a werewolf. Vilkas is an accomplished warrior who excels in two-handed weaponry (of which he is a Master trainer) and heavy armor.

As with the other marriageable members of the Companions, the quest “Glory of the Dead” needs to be completed first. Vilkas, along with his brother, is arguably one of thepurest examples of a warriorin the game when his skill-set is taken into account. In regards to compatibility, no other suitor comes close to hitting it off with a pure warrior Dragonborn. Plus, he’s one of the few marriage partners in the game where “date night” can consist of curing him of his lycanthropy.
