Very few games have amassed the staying power thatSkyrimhas, not only remaining relevant and popular for ten years, but being filled with constant new discoveries. It doesn’t seem to matter if it’s someone’s firstSkyrimplaythrough or their 100th, as there is something new a player finds every time. Sometimes, someone will discover a new detail someone else won’t in the exact same location, and it creates an incredibly engaged community in breaking down all the details in the game.
One recent discovery comes from Redditor Sublata during the quest “Pieces of the Past.” This quest requiresSkyrimplayers to venture into Cracked Tusk Keep and recover theShards of Mehrunes’ Razor, a powerful Daedric artifact.

Sublata manages to make it to one of the shards in the dungeon by jumping over two tripwires, where the shard sits on what is an obvious trap. Whereas most players would quickly snatch it and bail, Sublata apparently decided to go full Indiana Jones. Just asHarrison Ford’s titular characterswaps the idol inRaiders of the Lost Ark, Sublata takes a potion out of his inventory, sets it on the trap, and grabs the Shard of Mehrunes Razor.
This prevents the trap from going off, and Sublata is able to exit theSkyrimdungeon by jumping the tripwires once more, no worse for wear than when they entered. This is something fans may want to keep in mindwhenSkyrim: Anniversary Editionreleases, as traps similar to these are discovered quite a bit in the game, and this is one method of dealing with them that may benefit players.
Indeed, the set-up of these particular traps really invites thatIndiana Jonesvibe, and players have likely tried it before. It is something, however, that the more casual player may not ever have thought of when the easier option is to grab and bail quickly. Still, Sublata claims that it has taken 10 years for this to dawn on them, and the easier option existing is likely why.
After all, the fastest point from A to B is to set off the traps, snatch, and run, but Sublata goes the extra mile for exercisingstealth inSkyrim. Luckily, with the aforementioned Anniversary Edition just a few months away, more and more discoveries are likely to be made regarding Bethesda’s epic RPG.
Skyrim: Anniversary Editionreleases on November 11 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
