Among the newer ones, though, it’s hard to deny how righteously metal his Necro Fumes skin is. It follows in the thematicselection ofSmiteskinsfeaturing skulls and glowing green flames that can be found for several gods, but Agni’s just fits him so well.
The screaming skull heads and heavy metal armor complete a look that feels lifted off the t-shirt of the most popular metal band from the 80s. It looks like it would be featured on the cover of an Iron Maiden album.
7Chilling Grasp (Ah Puch)
WithHouse of the Dragonbringing fansof theGame of Thronesuniverse back into a place where they’re enjoying the series again, it’s safe to say a skin based on one of its biggest villains is a great choice for the Halloween season. Sure,Smitehas more than a handful of skins that take creative liberties with known characters, but the Chilling Grasp skin for Ah Puch happens to be one of the best.
It’s clearly based on The Night King from theGame of Thronesseries and does a good job of capturing the entity’s cold eyes and menacing feel. Not to mention that it makes Ah Puch’s ultimate a snowstorm of sorts that envelops anyone trapped inside of it.
6Abyssal Executioner (Chaac)
With Cthulhu being featured inSmiteas a playable god it’s no surprise that many of the other gods would get skinsbased on Lovecraftian horror. Sporting the head of Cthulhu itself, Chaac’s Abyssal Executioner skin feels like the god going to a convention with the singular goal of cosplaying as the Great Old One.

The shield and axe take it to another level as the psychological horror of Cthulhu become an offensive weapon set to take the soul of anything that stands between it and its ultimate goal. Just don’t stare at the gnashing pit of teeth on Chaac’s stomach as one may become hypnotized into falling in.
5Brood Mother (Medusa)
Snakes and spiders happen to be some of the most common fears among humans. So when there’s a god inSmitewho happens to be a giant snake/human hybrid, it alone in its base form can be haunted. Medusa, known for her stone gaze, has a rather intimidating but not scary design in the game. That all changes when someone sees her skin called Brood Mother.
It morphs the snake-like goddess into a horrific centipede/human hybrid that makes Medusa’s original form feel family-friendly. It turns out that the only thing on Halloween scarier than the slithering of a snake is the unending sound of skittering legs when dozens of them move in unison.
4Xeno Weaver (Arachne)
As mentioned in the previous entry spiders happen to be a very common human fear. Arachne, a god that is a spider queen, is naturally offputting and thus one could make a case her default skin is scary enough on its own. The cruel designers working onSmitethought that she wasn’t scary enough!
They decided that making a skin based on the Xenomorph aliens from theAlienseries could take it up a notch, and they were right. It takes two Halloween monsters people already get uneasy around and morphs them into a singular nightmare-inducing hybrid.
3Lucid Nightmare (Sun Wukong)
Sun Wukong as a god often gets a lot of love and attention as he serves as the inspiration for many popular fictional characters likeGoku fromDragon Balland Infernape fromPokemon. Thankfully,Smiteisn’t afraid of turning that love on its head with some spooky skins for the shape-shifting Monkey King.

The Lucid Nightmare skin keeps him in the trees but morphs the primate into a haunting and decayed demon of sorts. Sun Wukong’s face looks like a terrifying jack-o-lantern who now sports a collection of singular eyes residing on different parts of his body.
2Yurei (Susano)
Zombies as a popular genre of fictional story-telling may be fading with general audiences, but people will always love a good zombie design. Susano is a god that’s strongly aligned with storms and wind, so a zombie skin feels both fitting and ironic for him in the same capacity.
In some ways, his Yurei skin thematically matches his attachment to the storm with how hordes of zombies are often described as a force of nature, or an inevitable storm. That being said, having a ton of loose and decaying flesh when constantly surrounded by strong forces and winds feels like a match set to fail.
1Bloody Butcher (Ymir)
When it comes to Halloween there’s nothing wrong with going with a classic. Ymir is one of the older gods inSmite,but he remains one of the more entertaining and offensive guardians the game has to offer. He’s often sporting an icy blue look displaying his ties to the cold. The Bloody Butcher skin transforms the giant into a frightening butcher focused on torturing the unfortunate.
Along with the sheer stature of Ymir, this skin provides a haunting mask that pairs with a design showcasing a sadistic and relentless horror. Some people may consider it too tied to classic horror imagery, but it’s classic for a reason.
