According to the developer, “Insomniac has been working incredibly hard to bring you a fantastic Miles Morales adventure since we concluded development onMarvel’s Spider-Man,“promising that players will “experience a full story arc with Miles.” Although, it seems the spinoff won’t merely be an extension ofMarvel’s Spider-Man,with Horton claiming he’s “excited for the game to demonstrate the power of PlayStation 5 this holiday.” For example, the game will allegedly show off “near-instant loading, ray-tracing, 3D audio and theDualSense controller.” Horton also reveals that the in-game models have got a significant update, claiming Insomniac’s “upgraded [its] characters with 4D scans and improved skin shading for more realistic looking characters and spline-based hair that moves far more naturally.”
Seemingly, this will be a completely next-gen take on the systems introduced inMarvel’s Spider-Man,with Horton assuring fans that “as you experience Miles’s story, you’ll see, hear, and feel things in a whole new way, all thanks to PS5.” There’s no denying that the team’s words and the reveal trailer paint a fantastic superhero experience, with fans of the first game already incredibly excited to playa newSpider-Manadventure in Miles' shoes.
Interestingly, it seems this is far from the onlySpider-Manexperience currently being worked on over at Insomniac, with the team teasing that Peter Parker’s time as the famed web-slinger is far from over. ClearlyMiles Moralesis aiming to be a supremely funnewSpider-Manstory that will likely bridge the gap between the original game and a future sequel, while also acting as a technical showcase that highlights the PlayStation 5’s biggest features. Luckily, fans won’t have to wait too long to see the game either, with the standalone spinoff title dropping this holiday.
